s and Whiskers and I'm super excited to share my love of all things pets and handmade for pets with you! I’m Kitty Mom to Winnie, our Chief Toy tester here at Wiggles and Whiskers. She is a very fun and funky black, DSH polydactyl rescue cat... She has 7 toes on each of her front paws and 5 each on her back paws. We live in an almost 100-year-old home, in the great little community of St. Jacobs in Southern Ontario. We also have a growing wholesale side of Wiggles and Whiskers where we sell dog toys, accessories and signature designed bandanas.

For our website customers, the lead up to Christmas was definitely a rocky road with the Canada Post strike, so we hope you'll be back in 2025. Welcome, Jessi! We are excited to have you join the Wiggles and Whiskers crew, and we can't wait to introduce you to your first Canadian winter. Jessi is a 9-year-old Siberian Husky who moved to Canada with her family in April. She loves long walks in the forest, is full of energy, and has eagerly started her English language training with the word 'treat'. 😄

We are excited to introduce to you the newest addition to the Wiggles and Whiskers crew. This is Nova! She is an adorable 2.5yr old bull mastiff who is lots of fun and loves carrots! She will be joining us as an 'occasional or as needed' dog walking client when her family needs to go away for the day. 🖤✨ Happy National Black Cat Day! ✨🐈‍⬛

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on these gorgeous, mysterious felines. Winnie is our favourite black cat, with 24 toes! Did you know National Black Cat Day was started in 2011 to raise awareness about black cats being unfairly overlooked for adoption due to old superstitions?

🐾 In some cultures, black cats are seen as good luck — especially in Japan and the UK! Their fur color can change slightly with age, turning a rusty brown under sunlight, and there are actually more black cat breeds than any other color of cat! Let’s break the myths and celebrate the beauty of black cats! 🖤

🎃🐾 Halloween is almost here, and while we’re all excited for costumes, candy, and spooky fun, let’s not forget about our furry friends! 🐶🐱 Halloween can be stressful for pets, but with a few simple tips, you can make sure it’s a safe and enjoyable time for them too. 🧡

1️⃣ Costume Comfort: Dressing up pets can be fun, but only if they enjoy it! Make sure costumes don’t restrict movement, block vision, or have small parts they could chew on.

2️⃣ Quiet Space: Keep pets away from trick-or-treaters and noisy parties by setting up a safe, calm room for them.

3️⃣ ID Check: Make sure your pet has a tag with updated info, just in case they slip out during the festivities.

4️⃣ Treat Safety: No chocolate or candy for pets! Keep pet-friendly treats handy, and watch out for hazardous decorations like candles and wires.

With these tips, Halloween can be a treat for everyone! 🧡🎃

Fall is pretty much my favourite time of year, and lately, my canine friends have really been enjoying this season as well. Overall, the weather has been cooler, but still dry, and the colours have been beautiful! There are lots of leaves to play in and different smells to investigate. What have your pets been up to lately?

Check out Koda's big smile! This dog is the most resilient pup you will ever meet. He is still smiling even though.... his Mom has been away over a week on a business trip, he is struggling with seasonal allergies (his paws and face are super itchy), he is on a 'diet' to loose weight, not one dog stopped to say 'Hi' to him today and it's about 29 degrees with the humidity and he's a Pomsky (he feels the heat, and LOVES the snow!). Sometimes, our canine friends have it all figured out, and we should pay more attention to their positive attitudes.

I had the absolute pleasure of making a very special collar, bowtie, and leash set earlier this month. The adorable puppy, named Tater, was supporting his parents for their wedding. With enough notice, custom orders are a lot of fun. Even though it's hard to see in these photos, gorgeous photos BTW , I was able to source a near perfect fabric match with the grooms suit and coordinating gold hardware at the bride's request. All the best to the newlyweds and Tater as you embark on this next chapter of your life together!

Tomorrow is August 8th, which means market #3 for me this summer as a vendor at the Uptown Waterloo Night Market series. It's always lots of fun to chat with pet parents and to meet pups (of course, I always have treats on hand), so if you are in town, come by and say 'Hi'!

What a great way to kick off the busy summer pet sitting season hanging out with these two boys. Brothers Nacho and Grilled Cheese are quite the characters. They love playing with each other, including chasing each other around and wrestling whenever the mood strikes them. I was also grateful that they enjoyed snuggles! I love lap cats, and if I sat down, Nacho was sure to join me and give me lots of kisses, too! Have a great summer boys!

Good morning from St. Jacobs and a warm welcome to Dali, the newest member of the Wiggles and Whiskers Crew. Dali is equal parts, a complete snuggle monster, he will ask for pets from the moment you step in the door and, on the other hand, super quirky. In addition to having no fear of heights and choosing to hang out on the edge of a half wall in the loft, he likes to literally drag out his owners' dirty laundry into the living room. Each day I come for a visit, there is a different item of clothing out or something has moved to a different location. 😄 Cheers to a job where no day is ever the same and always full of surprises!

While it's understandable to want to 'get the best deal possible', what many pet parents may not understand are the dangers of simply looking for a pet sitter or dog walker solely based on cost. Absolutely cost must be considered, however, it should never be your only (or even top) consideration when looking for quality pet care.

I'm proud to invest in important business credentials and ongoing education to ensure I can offer the best possible pet care. I believe your pets deserve it!

Sometimes, I'm lucky enough to bump into what I call a 'bonus pet', this little cutie named Grey is a perfect example. I walk his sister, a spunky Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Carolina, but he is always at the door to greet me, inspect my waist bag, sniff my shoes and follow me around to make sure I see him to give him a few pets. Well, of course, I pet him, who could resist this adorable fluffy face. He has a brother too, equally adorable and fluffy (of course I'm always wearing black!) named Earl. So I come to walk one dog, and I get the feel-good vibes from 3 pets! I have the best job!
