FYI. As of today, will are no longer accepting fresh mounts from this season. Please read the following information.
Will are still accepting restorations / older mounts from years previous. ( If the mount, whether it be euro or crown needs any old hide removed, or cleaning / whitening in that regard, the mount will not be completed till later in the spring/summer as our boiling and washing gear is now stored until the warm weather returns). Otherwise, mounts will be completed as they come in.
If you already have a fresh set of antlers or skull from this season, or have yet to take one, and wish to have us mount it for you if you are lucky enough to take an animal…hang on to it until later the spring and shoot us a message once the weather warms back up.
A few things that you can do to help the process along and will result in a better finished product and faster turn around are:
If wanting a euro mount, remove the lower jaw. Skin the entire head as best you can and if left outside, you can wrap the antlers up in several garbage bags which will keep the weather off the antlers. This will help in protecting their natural colour and saving you an extra cost of touching them up / recolouring later in the spring when you bring the head in.
If you’re looking at getting a crown mount, cut the skull cap off with antlers attached from the head, be sure to leave enough skull cap for us to work with. You may skin the skull cap if you wish or leave it be. These can usually be kept inside over the winter in a shed or garage. No need to cover the antlers if kept inside. If you leave it outside, cover and wrap antlers in bags to help protect the antlers natural colour.
Lastly, just want to give a big thank you to our new and return clients who chose us again this year to bring your trophies and memories from the woods, to the wall!
