Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day. The NLEA would like to recognize all of the Indigenous people in our sport, celebrating their heritage and achievements.

“We respectfully acknowledge the land on which we gather as the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk [bee-oth-uck], whose culture has now been erased forever. The horses are already gone to Nova Scotia and Reece, Arabella & Emily leave tomorrow! Safe travels!!! The girls, along with our Newfoundland friends Katrina, Tyra & Danielle will all be competing in the Valley Reiners Summer Show in Windsor NS this weekend. GOOD LUCK LADIES & HAVE FUN!! What a great first show of the season yesterday at Sliding K!! Thanks for having us, it was a fun couple of days at your place! 🤗

The girls and their horses did SO well. It’s easy to see just how much work each and every one of you put in to your riding and horses. Very impressive! Great job!!!!👏🏻

Special shout-out to riders Ava and Emma who competed in their first ever show and did super!!!! Also horses LJ & Opie who were in their first ever show. We are so proud!💚

Congratulations to everyone who competed yesterday, especially Leah & Reece on your highpoint awards!!! 🤩 yay!

Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!!

Today we celebrate the life of a very special man - Bill Hedges (Jodi’s dad). He was a horse lover and the biggest supporter of Wesgate. Not a day went by that he didn’t ask about the barn or horses. He never missed a show or function. Wesgate was very near and dear to his heart. Thanks for all of the memories over the years. We will miss you forever 😢💚💚💚

We have many inspiring Women in our barn. We have a strong Woman who is a co-owner of Wesgate with her husband. We have many intelligent Women horse owners and leasers. We have a few hard working Women employees. We have many ambitious female riders in our lesson program. During show season we have dedicated and confident Women judges, stewards, announcers and volunteers. We have many supportive barn moms. And we can’t forget all of our strong-headed mares.💗
