Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our friend, Billy.

We were asked to take Billy in after he lost his 14-year-old mother just the day before and went searching for her. At the time, we weren’t taking in new rescues, so I offered to do a courtesy post. But I couldn’t stop thinking about him. First thing the next morning, I called back and said I’d come pick him up.

Billy was in poor shape. At OVC, scans showed he had severe arthritis and a large mass in his nasal cavity. His time with us was short, but we made sure his final months were quiet, safe, and full of care. RIP, Billy

Lily!

Lily was spayed in early July shortly after she arrived, and recovered well.
Unfortunately, because pigs grow so fast, she developed a hernia. Thankfully, it wasn’t at the incision because that would complicate things more.
She had surgery today to repair it, and everything went smoothly. Now she’s on strict stall rest for at least 8 weeks while she heals.
Thanks to our vet and vet techs for taking good care of her.
