Thank you so much! 😍

☀️ Summer is THIS close and we’re turning up the heat with another 50/25/25 raffle! 🔥

The raffle recipient holds a special place in our hearts - it’s a vegan sanctuary here in Ontario. While it may not be directly involved in the fight against animal testing, it embodies the very principles we stand for every single day: compassion, non-violence, and a deep respect for all living beings. It's a safe haven for animals who have known suffering and now know peace. A place where the lives of animals are honoured, not exploited.

And perhaps most personally, it’s the sanctuary that changed everything for one of our co-founders. It was nine years ago, after a visit to this very place, that Barb went vegan. That moment sparked a transformation, one that helped shape who we are as an organization and as a community.

Supporting this sanctuary is a way to give back to the place that inspired the values at the core of our mission and we’re incredibly proud to help further its vital work in creating a kinder world for animals and for all of us.

50% will benefit Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary.
25% will go to the raffle winner.

After a much-needed haircut and neuter, Onyx is settling into his new home. His former caretaker wanted the best for him and reached out to us for help, and we found the perfect match: a no-harm hobby farm looking for a companion goat.

Now, Onyx is clean, calm, and living the good life with new friends. 😊

Enter Pete - not exactly known for his love of heights, but a hero when it counted. Stepping way out of his comfort zone, he bravely made the climb and brought Pinto safely back to the ground. 😄

This past week, we said goodbye to our beloved Jimmy.
Jimmy’s story began in tragedy, but it became one of resilience, love, and dignity.

Thirteen years ago, Jimmy was born on a transport truck—his mother had just given birth to a litter of stillborn piglets and was immediately loaded onto the truck that takes mothers to their deaths. Jimmy was considered contaminated, and the young man loading the car was told to kill him. Thankfully, he took Jimmy home and then asked his grandmother for help, who then asked us for help.

From the very beginning, Jimmy defied the odds. He lived a full life here, surrounded by care, compassion, and dignity. In the later years of his life, Jimmy faced several health challenges. We worked closely with vets to keep him comfortable and mobile. And he always rallied—until his body finally told us it was time.

Jimmy was more than a pig who beat the odds—he was a reminder of what happens when compassion has a chance to intervene. His presence changed people. He will be missed terribly by all of us.

Rest gently, Jimmy. You mattered so much.

Join us on Saturday, May 31st, from 11am to 2pm as we screen compost and muck the barn.

If you’re 16 or older and want to directly help animals, this is a great opportunity to roll up your sleeves, meet like-minded people, and make a real difference.

We’ll wrap up the day with a vegan potluck — always a highlight!

→ RSVP is required — message us to sign up and for potluck details.

Today, we celebrate the love, strength, and sacrifices of mothers everywhere. But as we honour the mothers in our lives, we also hold space for the millions of mothers who are never acknowledged — the female animals trapped in the farming system.

Mother cows whose calves are taken from them hours after birth, so their milk can be sold.

Mother pigs are confined in gestation crates and cannot turn around. They endure repeated pregnancies without ever getting to care for their piglets.

Mother hens are bred to lay hundreds of eggs a year, and their bodies are pushed far beyond what’s natural or kind.

These mothers, too, have instincts to nurture, protect, and comfort their young. But in factory farms, their motherhood is exploited and denied. Their grief is real. Their suffering is ongoing.

At Cedar Row, we’ve seen what happens when female animals can be who they are, not what they can produce. We’ve seen bonds form—and heal—when they’re no longer treated as machines.

This Mother’s Day, we invite you to expand your circle of compassion. Honour mothers by going vegan.
