"Let me deinfluence you a little. I love feeding raw, but it ain’t pretty, cheap, or always practical 🙃 I was doing research on what I wanted to feed Tilly before she was even in this world!! Currently trying to figure out why she’s so itchy, hello elimination diet 🙄
Protein: @perfectlyrawpetfood we usually rotate proteins but for the next 8 weeks it’s only pork! They make wonderful food that is clean, responsibly sourced and local, really doesn’t get any better!!
Vegetables: I love to make Tilly’s veggie mix so I know exactly what goes in there. It always includes a squash, garlic, rosemary, cranberries and blueberries. The rest.. whatever the humans can’t eat before it goes bad gets tossed in the freezer and added to the next batch!
Glucosamine: prevention of future joint pain! Helps ensure healthy and well lubricated joints for this crazy gal. From @thrivepetfoodmarket
Pre biotic: improve the gut microbiome! One of the only ones on the market that is specific for dogs, pretty cool science behind it for a nerd like me. Fido’s flora from @adoredbeastapothecary
Green lipped mussel: another anti inflammatory, to upkeep healthy joints and ligaments from @thrivepetfoodmarket
Seal oil: another source of omega 3s, similar to any fish oil except this comes from seals. Dogs benefit more from it because they can absorb it much better being mammal to mammal (who knew 🤓) @thrivepetfoodmarket
Bone broth: loaded with vitamins and minerals, it boosts immunity and helps with liver function. And again extra hydration for the girl who doesn’t have time to stop and drink water (just like the rest of us) @primalpetfoods
Goat milk: helps support digestion and increase good bacteria in the digestive tract, plus Tilly can always use some extra hydration! @primalpetfoods "

Samples of our new brick styles are coming out nicely❤️
We posted a quick teaser a few weeks ago about testing some new shapes and forms for our Perfectly Raw bricks, and we wanted to share a little update!
We have rigorously been testing 4 different plastic/silicone molds over the last few months and have narrowed our selection down to 2 different molds.
These molds need to withstand repeated freezing, the weight of the product itself, knocking the frozen product out of the molds, and intensive cleaning regimens, so the type of molding we choose has to be perfect. And it has to prove that it can hold up!
We are excited about how things are coming along, because these new molds will make our production line even more efficient in numerous ways. Stay tuned!

What do you do with the "juice"?
Let your pet lap it up, of course!
This "blood juice" is called myoglobin, and I've added a little extra here to this dish for my pup's breakfast.
Myoglobin is an oxygen rich, iron carrying protein which is found in muscle meats. The redder the meat, the higher concentration of myoglobin.
It's responsible for storing oxygen so that working muscles can contract and work effectively. It's also rich in taurine and B vitamins.
Naturally, myoglobin doesn't just come out of raw pet food, it's in our frozen steaks and pork that we humans like to eat, too!
Quick tip: use a freezer tray to freeze little cubes of this good stuff, so you can pop a few in to your pets food whenever you like!
Thawing out some breakfast
🐽🐽🐽
One method you can use to feed your pet's meals, is to thaw out their dish overnight.
Place your Perfectly Raw in a covered container, and let thaw overnight (or all day) in the fridge. Depending on the fridge, and your pet's preference, you may need to thaw for a night and a day!
Thes are solid blocks of meat, bone, and organs so they do take some time to get fully thawed out. Give raw feeding a try, and visit www.perfectlyraw.ca for more tips, tricks, and FAQ'S.
