There are many ways we can help keep senior pets happy and healthy.

We recommend any senior pet (small cats and dogs aged 10 and older, medium to larger dogs aged 7 and older) have twice yearly checkups to keep on top of monitoring for health issues that can affect quality of life.

One of the most important jobs of an RVT is patient care.

Rebecca our RVT and hospital manager is in charge of anesthesia and kept a watchful eye on Eddie during his entire dentistry (he had 18 teeth removed!), and made sure he was comfortable and clean after surgery. ❤️🐶

We are lucky to have Rebecca and Andrea caring for all our patients!

We’ve shared our furry, scaley, and feathered patients, now it’s time for some slimy ones!

Meet Green Beans and Kiwi the White’s Tree Frogs 🐸. They came in to have their eyes checked out. Both ladies were very cooperative with their exams today.

Frogs and other amphibians have very sensitive skin that needs to stay moist, which is why we handle them with wet gloves.

Remember that ticks are still very active this time of year!! Ticks can be active any time temperatures are above zero degrees Celsius.Black legged deer ticks like this little lady (found on a dog in clinic this week!) have peaks of activity in spring and fall. This is the species that can carry Lyme disease. Make sure your pet is on flea and tick prevention - call us if you need to pick up more!

Kiwi also wants to help us introduce Andrea, our new veterinary technician! Andrea has been with us for a few months now, and she is a great addition to the team. Originally from Colombia 🇨🇴, she has been in Canada for 6 years and just got her Canadian citizenship this year! Andrea likes pets of all shapes and sizes, and at home she has 1 dog (Rico) 🐶, 3 cats (Copito, Oreo, and new rescued kitten Ophelia) 🐱, and 4 rats 🐀. Say hi to Andrea next time you are in the clinic!

This helps us know what diseases your pet (or you!) might have been exposed to.
