We had a few escape artists this morning. Guess they wanted an early breakfast!
Would you consider that a bad start to your morning? I wouldn't. There is something special about being able to give your kids a shake of the fist, and still get them to go through the various gates, back to their area. So fencing it is again this morning, along with the other fencing that has to be done, but I am not complaining, sun is shining on my face, who can complain with that? ☀️

This Mother’s Day, we welcome you to come and enjoy the farm to celebrate or remember those who have had a maternal impact on your life.
We will be open Sunday from 10am - 5pm and as a treat to all you special Moms (whether it be a mom, stepmom, or grandmothers), they will get in free on Sunday.
We will also be having two special moments this Sunday! At 1pm we will be releasing our 10 week old chicks outside, and just shortly before 5pm we will be opening the far pasture for the littles.

This week, we have our annual vet visit at the farm. This is a crucial part in us caring for our animals. The vet will do an overall check on our animals, as well as one on one checks with any who we may have questions or concerns about.
The cost of our vet coming to do an on-site check can vary, as it depends on how long she is here and how many one-on-one’s she does during her visit. We are looking at an upcoming bill cost of $2,000. 🩺

At this time, the money keeping us afloat is starting to diminish. With our current vet bill and the costs of operating Kismet Creek Farm, we are still not out of the woods yet and continue to ask for your support.
Now that the weather is getting nicer, we hope to see more of you visit the farm, so we can continue caring for our farm-ily members along with creating a fun & educational space for all. We are open this weekend from 12-4pm for visiting.

Happy 9th Birthday to this big guy, Archie! Archie this summer vs his first summer with us. 🤎🤍
Archie was born into a beef cattle herd in early April 2015, where he quickly fell ill. Unfortunately, his mother showed little interest in nursing him and he started to weaken. At less than a week old, he developed scours and pneumonia. He went down and was unable to stand or walk for weeks. He moved into the house to be monitored and cared for while he regained his health.
Archie was treated with numerous medications, electrolytes, physical therapy, vitamins, and we are so happy after everything that he is now healthy and happy, living his best life! ✨

Our ‘littles’ decided they would visit the ‘bigs’ this morning but they didn’t ask Karl first. 🐐🐑🦙🐄It’s never a dull moment on the farm but Karl sure knows how to stay calm and enjoy the moment.☀️
It was Farrier Day for our equine on Tuesday! We currently have 3 horses (Buster, Buddy and Jetta) and 5 donkeys (Lexi, Leroy, Pete, Peggy and Jenny) in our care. 🐴🫏We are always so impressed with our farrier when she visits. The care and knowledge she provides each visit is absolutely amazing. Your support through visits and donations help us care for our equine and the other 100 animals who call the farm their home. 🤍We are open this weekend Saturday and Sunday from 12-5pm.

Meet Pumpkin 🎃Pumpkin showed up on the farm in the Fall of 2022. He came and went as he pleased for the first little bit, but decided to make the farm his forever home. Pumpkin loves attention and will meow until he gets it. 🧡Unfortunately, Pumpkin ended up getting injured this spring, which led to some bed rest to heal until he could get into the vet. Pumpkin had his first vet check where they cared for his injuries and neutered him. We are happy to say he is doing much better. 🧡With your support, we are able to continue to care for our farm-ily members like Pumpkin. Meet our beautiful lady Jetta! 🤍🤎Jetta is approximately 11 years old paint mare. She joined the Kismet Creek farm-ily in July of 2019.It is believed that Jetta went through a couple homes before being taken to the livestock auction. This is where she was rescued by Hooves ‘N Hounds and The Good Place: Farm Rescue & Sanctuary where their primary focus is rescuing and rehabilitating horses; and then finding them a forever home. We are thankful that Jettas forever home can be us! We have seen a wonderful transformation with her. Jetta struggled with her hoof trim appointments but over the last year, she has become much more comfortable and calm during her appointments. She has fully settled in and made the farm her home. 🤍Friday, went for her first check up and got fixed today and she did great! We are a family-run farm sanctuary, & offer visits with our residents to raise funds to further our rescue efforts and cover operating expenses. Many of our animals are friendly and love attention, but we ask people to never force an interaction that is unwanted. We pride ourselves on putting our animals’ physical, emotional and mental well-being first. Our goal is to promote compassion and respect for all species, and remove animals from the food system. We host special events year round, and are available for field trip bookings, birthday parties, family gatherings and more. Our gift shop features affordable local handmade goods and is open year round.
