❤️😻’PERFECTLY PERMANENT’ ADOPTION
We’ve had a number of special adoptions of our longterm residents lately, and a couple days ago it was Myrtle’s (tabby) and Cooper’s (black & white) turn! This adoption is extra super special though for a number of reasons:
🐾 Myrtle and Cooper met and quickly bonded at our shelter when they were kittens. Cooper was terrified of people, while Myrtle was just the most loving kitty. Knowing they were bonded and that Cooper depended on Myrtle for support, we turned down many applications for Myrtle. They either got adopted together, or they stayed with us!
🐾 So they stayed with us for waaaay too long, until they were happily adopted! Unfortunately, they were later returned and again waited and waited for exactly the right family.
🐾 We 100% knew they weren’t leaving us again unless the perfect family applied to adopt them, but the perfect family doesn’t exist…or does it? 🤔
🐾 The answer to that question is a resounding YES!!! Lorie was helping to care for a sick animal at our shelter and, therefore, visited the shelter frequently for three weeks. (No worries! The animal recovered beautifully.) When she came in the evening, she often brought her daughter and/or son with her.
🐾 During those visits they got to know Myrtle, who quickly gave them ALL the love! Then Cooper started to show his loving side also and that sealed the deal!🥹
Late Thursday afternoon a very excited family finally got to adopt their beloved cats, and Myrtle and Cooper finally got the forever home they deserved!😻😻 Everyone at the Southwest Coast SPCA is beyond thrilled with this adoption, and updates from Lorie show kitties that settled in extremely quickly. (Bonus pictures in comments.)
Typically we wait at least a week before posting an adoption to make sure everything is going well, but there’s no need to wait to post this one. Myrtle and Cooper have definitely found their forever and ever home!💗
Congratulations, Lorie, Travis, Cameron, Isla, Myrtle and Cooper! We wish you many, many years of love, cuddles and playtime.
