Meet Mallory! 👋
Mallory is our newest Veterinary Office Assistant! You may have already met her during her first few weeks here. She is a recent graduate from the VOA program at Robertson College. Be sure to say hello and give her a warm welcome! 😊
If you have any food or medications for your pets to pick up before the long weekend, we will be open until 6pm today!
Pets can escape even from the most secure homes. Microchipping provides an extra layer of security.
Taking your cat to the vet or any car ride in general can be a stressful event for them. Finding the right cat carrier can definitely help the situation!
🐱Putting familiar items inside the carrier with your cat such as a favorite toy and/or blanket can make them feel more comfortable.
🐱Covering the carrier with a blanket or towel can help minimize outside distractions, such as lights, loud noises and prevent motion sickness
Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🌈

The clinic will be closed for the September long weekend from Saturday August 31st until September 2nd. We will be back to our regular business hours Tuesday September 3rd. Those lazy summer days 🙌
Pet allergy symptoms typically appear on their skin rather than in their eyes or nose, like human allergy symptoms. While you are accustomed to sneezing and watery eyes, your allergic pet will display the following signs:
❗️Red, irritated skin
❗️Chewing, licking, and scratching
❗️Chronic ear infections
❗️Hair loss
❗️Paw licking
❗️Face rubbing
❗️Anal gland issues
If your pet develops any of these symptoms, give us a call to set up an appointment to relieve the itch!
Microchipping is a quick and painless procedure that provides a lifetime of security for your pet. Ask your vet about microchipping.
Cats are masters at hiding pain from their owners. It's important to keep up with regular annual wellness visits to your vet to keep them happy and healthy 🥰
They can help avoid medical emergencies by detecting conditions or
diseases before they become significant, painful, or more costly to treat.
Why does it always have to go by so fast! 😫
August is itchy pet awareness month!
This time of year is when we see a lot of itchy pets! Itchiness is a common symptom of allergies but other signs could also be chewing/biting at fur, excessive licking, ear infections, fur loss or skin changes.
If you notice your pet doing these signs and they aren't going away, book an appointment to help relieve the itch!
Could it be true! 👽🛸

Good Evening, Dr. Brown here. Check out my cat Mittens drinking water in this slo-mo video. Adult cats are relatively inefficient drinkers of low-viscosity fluids such as water because they cannot create suction with their tongues. When they lap a bowl of water, only 3/100 of a teaspoon of water is consumed with each flick of the tongue. Cats and dogs, in fact, drink quite differently. Dogs use their tongues like a scoop to lift and pull water into their mouths. Cats, on the other hand, rapidly flick the tip of their tongues on the water, drawing up a column of liquid to their mouths. Can live their lives slightly dehydrated which is not good for their health or longevity. What are some things you can do at home to help improve your cat’s hydration you ask? 1. Feed canned food. 2. Mix water into their canned food or kibble. 3. Offer a variety of water stations (bowl, big bowl, cup, fountain, running water). 4. Keep their water full & fresh. 5. Use hydracare! This amazing OTC product is available from your veterinarian. It is viscous which helps cats lift it into their mouths, and it is delicious and healthy as well!
