This year was definitely a different Halloween being a business owner, and sole proprietorship at that. I did manage to have some fun though with my clients! Today was Nora, Indie, Hazel and Polly, and Tāne. I removed the costume for Indie, as she's a brand new cat client, and already skittish. The others though got to experience it, and everyone did really well, and recognized that it was Auntie underneath! 🥰

Had a decently busy day with 7 home visits and walks today! Got a few new clients over the past week and a half, so you'll see some new faces!

Today was quite the day, I ended up with 8 walks/home visits due to 1 cancellation.

Polly got some new toys and was very interested in them. Super affectionate, grateful little girl, and I wish that all cats were like her. Apparently, she's not a people cat, but always comes running when I arrive, for head rubs and treats!

Nora is a 10 year old great dane that I visit 2x a day Monday through Friday. She's a gentle giant, and one of the quietest, friendliest dogs I've ever met. She LOVES eating grass, and wants to meet everyone that we come across on our walks.

Petey is a 5 year old springer spaniel who had his first walk with me today. He did GREAT! Super friendly little guy, and a really good little walker. He even presented his belly for some rubs, then kept reminding me to keep rubbing when I stopped!

Rocky (I call him Rocky Balboa) is a super sweet and spotted guy with a big personality. We often need to stop our walk because he needs kisses on both sides of his face. Today we chased a flock of geese. Thankfully they all skedaddled!

Sarah is an elderly cat that I started looking after last year, and who I now visit again 2x a week for a quick visit, snuggles and a medication administration. Again, a super sweet, quiet girl who once latched onto both sides of my head in order to groom my hair.

Bartlett (Bart) is another brand new client who had his first walk with me today. Not my biggest doggo client, but sitting at 130 lbs, he's the biggest one that I walk. He did GREAT today! His parents have obviously put in a lot of training time with him; he was so gentle on leash. And a sweetheart at that; he also presented his belly for rubs.

Bree and Finn are the largest clients I have by far! They're a Mom and son pair of horses just outside of Spruce Grove, and they're great and goofy, especially Finn. Although, Bree horsed around today, posing for some extreme close-ups!

I'm geared up for the busiest day of pet care yet - dog walks and home visits with NINE clients! Two brand new puppers: a lovely Springer Spaniel named Petey and a lovely Golden Retriever X Samoyed named Bartlett. The day starts now and ends at 7pm 😀

I've got a 140 lb lap dog, and am loving every minute!

Hazel and I usually walk for an hour. She's super high-energy, but energy levels were low today with the heat. So, after our much shorter walk, we both cooled down with a water hose party!

Note: when walking pets in heat like this, be sure to check on them often. Carry water, kneel down and feel pavement. If it's too hot to your touch, it's too hot for paws! Make walks short, enough time to do some business and provide fresh, cold water in their bowls when getting back home. ❤️

Today was probably the most fun I've had with pet care. I figured out what I'm doing for client Christmas gifts, so the pups and I did arts and crafts! It was a giant breed day, so Nora the great dane, and the cane corsos, Eddie and Rosie all got to experience doing crafts, and all of them did fantastic jobs! ❤️❤️❤️

Today's critters!

Today was the last day with Harvey and Louis - they're very good cats and very handsome boys. I'll miss chatting with Harvey who's a very chatty kitteh.

Rocky stopped his walk three times today for smooch breaks. He's a super affectionate guy who likes kisses on each side of his face. So of course, I obliged!

It was the second visit with Eddie and Rosie, and it was awesome! Eddie has congestive heart failure and needs me to give his midday meds. To do that, I need to crack open his mouth, fully insert my hand and drop the meds at the back of his tongue. Did I mention that he's 160lbs? Today, I got it on the first try, whoo hoo! I high fived myself after washing off the drool! 😀

It was a busy day for Wag This Way today with back to back clients for most part. I added in 2 brand new doggos: Eddie and Rosie who are huge and super sweet, and the day isn't done yet. I'm currently babysitting beagles! 😁
