Ebony, our sassy resident pony, enjoying play time with one of her people. Ebony is available for very light/small riders only but is also a fabulous teacher for groundwork principles that build trust and partnership. Would your horse play and follow you like this at liberty?

We had a lovely Saturday afternoon off and yesterday and today were devoted to the last canning of the year (started in March with maple syrup). Two batches of apple butter, two batches of pickled beets and a traditional salsa and that’s a wrap!

While we are enjoying these gorgeous fall days riding outside, we're thrilled to announce that our huge indoor arena is getting a full footing replacement next week. This is another significant capital investment we are making for the health and happiness of our horses & riders.

From Friday to Tuesday we were on our annual glamping/trail riding trip. This year we stayed at the charming The Fox Den at Half Ass Farm and rode the Copland Forest near Coldwater ON. Amazing trails, accommodations, company and food.

Barn Cat Co-op provided us with two new pals a few months ago for our resident feline Benji, who was lonely after the passing of his best friend. They have bonded beautifully and are often seen following after Benji in a cat train or sitting atop our hay bales together.
Please spay, neuter and vaccinate your barn cats to do your part to help the stray and feral crisis that has exponentially increased since Covid. Consider supporting grassroots organizations like Barn Cat Co-op in this important work.
Pictured are Benji (front) and Orchid (grey). Not pictured is Tortie Momma Mia.

I'm so glad I took the weekend ‘off’ lol🤣. It was a ‘can-o-rama’. Two slightly different sweet relish recipes, bread and butter pickles, chow chow and picalilli relishes. A total of 50 jars. LOTS of loot coming home on Tuesday! Thanks to Richard that brought up the green tomatoes I needed but forgot. It’s not really an item you can buy.
