Perci the Bearded Dragon was accidently let out of the house, and is now missing in Stoughton! Please keep an eye out for her, and let us know if you see her!

💥BREAKING NEWS! Anne is taking time off!💥

Anne is taking some much deserved time off from July 30th - August 9th!

We will not have large animal services, or an after hours veterinarian during this time.

We will still have small animal services, during regular hours.

UPDATE: OWNER FOUND!

Does anyone recognize this old boy? He wandered on to a farm in the Lampman area and didn't leave. He is a neutered male. Please give us a call if you recognize this guy so we can get him home!

For Adoption 🐶

Let’s help find this guy his forever home!

He is castrated, up to date on vaccines & dewormer, seems good with cats/other dogs and is ready for his new home.

In clinic, he is quiet in his kennel & is a super docile dog, but does have loose stools (we assume from stress of being in the busy clinic setting).

We would like to welcome Brooke Bagshaw to our team at SVS!

Brooke may be a familiar face to some, as she did her practicum with us this spring, and is now joining us as a full time Veterinary Technologist! 🐾

Brooke graduated from SaskPolytech in Saskatoon this June, and is currently studying to pass her VTNE (the licensing exam to become an RVT).
She is originally from the Broadview area, and has a special interest in equine medicine and surgery!

Please help us welcome Brooke to our team!

Unfortunately no one came forward to claim these boys!

So, they are now hoping to find their forever homes! 🤍

We are estimating them both at around 10 months of age. They have been neutered, vaccinated & dewormed, and received Bravecto!
They are both on the thin side, & were COVERED (🤮) in ticks when they came in.

Both have shown no interest in our clinic cats, & are not reactive to other dogs being brought into our kennel room.

These guys seemed to have very little handling prior to being at the clinic, and are now doing really well on leash & going out to the bathroom.
They’re quiet in our kennel room, and are overall very sweet!

Please let us know if you are interested in meeting these sweet dudes!

They were found off the 711 grid near Corning.

Is anyone missing this little lady? Found in Stoughton this weekend. Maybe around 8 months old, female, possibly spayed as we think we can see a scar. Orange tabby with some white.

We had an approximately 12 week old, male, buff kitten brought in to us this morning that was found on main street last night. Let us know if you are missing a kitten. If he is not claimed, we will post him for adoption!

UPDATE: Maggir has been found!!

⭐️ We are helping out our friends at Flying C Veterinary Services! ⭐️

Their wonderful RVT Pauline is fostering Lucky while they try to find him a home.

We are told he’s a lovely guy, is fully housetrained, travels well, and has been doing well with Pauline’s other pets (dogs & cats).

She believes he would do well with children, but hasn’t had the chance to introduce him to any yet.
Lucky is still a young, large breed dog with lots of energy, so please take that into consideration!

Update: Adoption Pending!

🐈 Adorable little, 3-legged friend looking for a new place to call home! 🐈

Everyone please meet Emma (formerly known as Catrick-renamed after our lovely WCVM Rotation student who spayed her while she was here)!

Emma was brought to our clinic after living her life as a farm cat, and unfortunately had a run in with a vehicle, resulting in a badly fractured hind limb.

Her family made the tough choice to relinquish her to the clinic as they could not have an indoor kitty.

Emma has since had her left hind limb amputated, is spayed, UTD on vaccines and dewormer and is ready for her new home!

Hogan’s PRP (platelet rich plasma) Journey

Hogan belongs to Sarah, one of our veterinary technicians and was our very first PRP injection patient.

Hogan had sustained an injury to his left stifle in May of 2022 and his pain was managed with laser treatments and an oral daily medication until he recovered. Unfortunately he injured the same stifle again in October 2022 but this time remained quite painful and unwilling to use the leg even with the same treatments as before.

January 18/23 Hogan was our practice patient and received his first PRP injection. After three weeks on restricted exercise Hogan was still quite tender and we decided another injection would be beneficial.

It’s almost a full year since his second injection and Hogan is still doing great. He is still a bit protective of that stifle and will sit with that leg out to the side but he’s back to helping Sarah teach puppy class and making sure everyone is kept in line!

Did you know that we offer PRP (Platelet rich plasma) injections for our canine friends?!

PRP uses the bodies own resources to decrease pain and inflammation and also promotes healing. Most patients that have received PRP injections can be taken off daily pain medications and remain quite comfortable afterwards. Results typically last for 6-9 months but we have a few patients doing well up to a year after their last treatment!

PRP can be used for:
- Arthritis
- Dysplasia
- Cruciate injuries
- Luxating patellas

PRP can be used in conjunction with our therapeutic laser or on its own.

*Ruca was seen around 7:15p.m. on Monday 1 mile west of town on highway 33.
Keep an eye out for Ruca in Stoughton. Petite, black & White female border collie. Send us a message if you know where she might be!

Zeus was an owner surrender after getting into trouble chasing the neighbours horses. He is timid at first but is very lovable once he gets to know you.
We have been working with him on coming out of his shell, grooming and basic manners. He walks well on a leash and is quite food motivated.

Students. We get a countless number of students here at SVS! We get a lot of volunteers getting hours for high school programs, for applications to post secondary, or just for the experience! We also have vet tech students come through for practicums, and veterinary students come for experience during the summer, and soon for clinical rotations! The last 2 summers we have been lucky to have 2 local students that are going in to be Veterinarians, Jackson Goudy and Lynka Itogawa. They spent many hours at the clinic during regular hours and helping Dr. Kernaleguen with after hours emergencies. Also pictured here is Dr. Ruth, who is in her final year of Vet Med and spent 2 weeks with us, and Sarah's son, Brysen who loves to come and learn.
