It's been a rough month here at Hot Dogs. I got surprising and unexpected news that my biological father passed away. I have been doing my best to keep up with the busy spring demands and am so thankful to so many of my clients for understanding the wait time and assuring me its worth it when I needed time off to handle things here at home.

However, I've had a few clients who have been very angry and said some very harsh things when I don't return a call or message in an almost immediately expected manor. He was laid to rest Friday and I was unable to return 2 calls I received during his service and both callers snapped, saying unkind things. I told them what had happened, but I should not have to explain that I have a life and family once business hours stop. I am doing my very best and am only one person.

Thank you for everyone's kindness and understanding while I navigate this event. Remember everyone is experiencing things you know nothing about. Just be kind.

Good morning everyone and welcome to October!

As I've been letting clients know over the last 4 weeks, starting October 1st my prices are unfortunately increasing. Grooming prices will increase $5 on all bath and tidies and $7 on all full grooms. For example, small dog grooms will increase from $45 to $52.

I will still offer a $5 discount for 2 or more dogs per home.

Nail trims will remain $5.

I held off as long as I could. But unfortunately, to continue my standard of care and use of quality products, I have to make this change.

Should things change in the future, I will revisit this issue again.

Coming into this busy holiday season, I'd like remind my beloved clients of some of the rules when bringing in your pets to Hot Dogs. These rules are not only for my safety but for your own pets safety as well.

Please bring your dog with a collar and leash. Or. If that doesn't work and they are small, a small Kennel works too.

A groomer is not a replacement for your vet. I can give advice based on experience when asked. But I am not medically trained outside of pet CPR. If you are unsure of something, please make an appointment with your vet.

I am not a one stop cure all treatment for fleas and ticks. If your pet does have fleas, I CAN NOT GROOM THEM! They need to be treated with a flea and tick remedy from the veterinarian. If I bring in a pet with an active flea infestation, I can not only pass it to my own animals. It can also be passed to clients who come in for appointments later on. I understand accidents happen and will treat with flea shampoo if the infestation was not noticed. But a flea bath WILL NOT EFFECTIVELY TREAT OR ELIMINATE A FLEA INFESTATION. They crawl up into the dogs ear and nasal canals during the bath and can escape the treatment. So PLEASE treat and bathe your pet as instructed by your veterinarian BEFORE bringing your pet for a groom.

If you are a first time client, I am a one on one groomer and that can eliminate a lot of stress on an animal. But if during the groom your dog becomes too anxious, stressed or aggressive to complete the groom without injuring them or myself I WILL NOT CONTINUE WITH THE GROOM. This is for the health and safety of EVERYONE and is very important.

The health and safety of my clients, their dogs and myself is something I strive to provide with every groom. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or text me!

Recently, Hot Dogs Grooming Salon reached out to us and indicated that there are several seniors in the Strathmore area whose pets require haircuts but are unable to afford them.

We are partnering with Hot Dogs Grooming Salon to provide 10 seniors in need with free grooms for their pets.

This is not a problem unique to the Strathmore area.

The city has seniors, veterans, and homeless persons who cannot afford grooming services. We are thankful to the groomer at Hots Dogs Grooming Salon for contacting us about the need.
