Seriously, who thought of shoving an open beer can up a chicken and putting that on the BBQ? Lol because it's genius and delicious!

Left overs were made into chicken stock!! Can't wait to make chicken noodle soup this fall & winter!

Ah, the Tomato Hornworm... check your tomato plants, everyday, and look for missing foliage. They're usually not too far! Hand pick them off, and drop in soapy water.. a more humane way of getting rid of them is tossing them into the surrounding field lol up to you!

I despise these little green menaces lol. I'm sure they have a place in nature, but could they not use my garden as their buffet?

Oh and they're small this year!! Smaller than my pinky finger 🐛

The Garden is weeded, and the storm is brewing!

Something I have found challenging this year is finding enough space for all the plants I started from seed and the ones I continue to bring home from greenhouses lol. The upside is that I managed to find all the peppers I need for my salsa recipe💃

The plants are soaking up this rain, and loving it! I desperately need to support my tomatoes.. tomorrow lol.

And the dang birds have eaten every single bean and pea sprout, twice! So, I'm starting those indoors now for a fall harvest! 🌾

Trying new things pay off 🌸

This Peony Jelly is delicate and delicious. Light on the floral nodes, it has a surprising fruity strawberry-peachy taste.

Use it on the charcuterie board, or with breakfast, tea time, or even dessert! I personally can't wait to try it with brie and pecans.

I have been insanely busy here. I keep meaning to take pictures of what I've been up to, but after all the hard work, sometimes you just need to sit and revel in it.

Here's some sprouts from the garden, peas and beans!

Side note: I do not have my garden planted yet. The nights here are still frigid, and that full moon in June has some of my neighbours worried about frost.

Tip: If you are trying to make buns, like I have done here, butter your hands! It might make it easier to handle the dough (its sticky!). This recipe could've easily made 6 or more buns. These 4 were massive, and we actually ended up cutting the centers out to make more pulled pork sandwiches!

I finally got my little green house up and noticed today that my Cucumber plants are starting to flower, already!! 🌼

Which is good, because we are down to my last jar of pickles!

This is my 3rd year starting my own seeds and planning a garden. I quietly said to myself this morning while looking at all my sprouts... I don't really know what I'm doing, but I think I'm doing something right this year!

I LOVE plants! They're so forgiving, patient, and always want to thrive.

It's a totally different vibe than my last job

Spearmint Sprouting!!
This is the teeniest tiniest sprout I have ever seen! 🌱😍 (that's an average piece of perlite beside it)

Tip: Keep your mints in a container! They're fast growing & will take over your garden bed!! It's difficult to get rid of once it's planted! Also, keeping it containers allows you to easily bring it inside in the fall for fresh mint all year long!
