Save the Date!

April 18 and 19, Mandy Pretty will be here at GPE for a 2 day Clinic!

This clinic is non-discipline specific, instead focusing on your balance in the saddle as well as equine biomechanics in the saddle and on the ground. Riders can expect a combination of ground work and/or ridden work to support whatever your goals may be, whether winning ribbons or enjoying a trail ride to the fullest. Mandy has a special connection to Icelandic Horses, and is knowledgeable with all kinds of gaited breeds nuances as well!

Mandy is a Tellington TTouch Equine Instructor, a Certified Connected Riding Assistant Instructor, and Surefoot 4 Hoof Accredited Professional. She has co-written books, travelled the world offering clinics and lessons to a vast array of riders and horse lovers. She has studied with the greats, including Peggy Cummings, her mother, Robyn Hood, and her aunt Linda Tellington-Jones.

GPE Spring Break Pony Camp!

We are offering 2 camps this Spring break, geared towards horse crazy kids aged 6 to 12. Camps feature daily riding lessons, learning to care for horses and ponies, and crafts and activities with a horsey theme!

No experience is necessary! ASTM/SEI Certified riding helmets provided, students must wear sturdy shoes or boots with a slight heel, and comfortable pants. Instruction by Certified and Licensed Equestrian Canada Coach as well as a high student to assistant ratio ensures your child has a top quality learning experience with safety at the forefront.

March 18, 19, 20 & March 25, 26, 27
Camps run 9:00 to 12:30pm daily

Finally finally finally I have the forms for SPRING BREAK Pony Camp!

Here is the link, thank you all for your patience!! We are looking forward to welcoming our young horse lovers to half day pony camp, with lots of hands on horsey time! Each day features riding lessons, tacking up and untacking, caring for camp ponies/horses, and crafts/games! Welcoming kids aged 6-12 at the following dates...

March 18, 19, 20
March 25, 26, 27

Either camp is suited to riders with little to no experience - however, for returning campers, never fear, we have a whole new set of games/activities to ensure riders are challenged and entertained!

Good Morning GPE Friends!!

Somehow this month has really gotten away on me - in light of how busy December seems to be for everyone, I am going to put off our barn party until Spring - in favor of a Painting party when we get some good weather in the spring, so we can work together and freshen up our jumps and poles and enjoy some good food and good company!

We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season, and hope that your families are warm and have full bellies.

Don't forget to renew your HCBC and/or BCEA memberships - and watch out for some winter education opportunities!

We said goodbye to one of our favourites yesterday. Dancer was the most wonderful pony, and we were so lucky to have been her caretakers for all the years we did.

I'm told she was the best pony to whisper to when you were braiding her mane, and I'm certain that's the case. She could be trusted with even the most nervous rider, and counted upon to safely carry any child into their new adventure of lifelong love of horses. She loved to be loved by children, and though always a little wary of adults, she's the gentlest, kindest soul around for a small rider.

I will miss the way she looked at me at feeding time, as if she had surely been forgotten and was starving. I hope there is pony heaven with the tallest grass and many, many apples. I will miss her quietness. Much love, small friend ❤🦄

Lovely 2010 14.1 3/4 Morgan X gelding seeking long term relationship with the rider of his dreams. Beau is a been there, done that type of fellow who has tried his hoof at nearly everything. He has done trails, eventing, para dressage, lessons, working equitation, games, etc. Beau is the most fun for a confident rider who is ready to bond and likes a horse with lots of personality! Excellent feet, fabulous ground manners, you can dress him up and take him anywhere. Hes a good sport, but hes enthusiastic, and so not suited to beginners or riders who cant handle a little excitement and the occasional kicking up your heels. Beau is a solid citizen at home or away, but is forward and sensitive - he doesnt want someone who gives mixed messages. Can come with his professionally fitted jump saddle. Priced in the low five figures, starting with a one. Video available, best match is most important for this fun, friendly gelding!

Our friend Beau is looking for a new rider to take him on adventures! Beau suits a young or mature rider with a good set of intermediate skills and a sense of humor. He has a lot of character which makes him easy to love by many riders. Beau jumps, trail rides, excellent over obstacles, great solid feet (barefoot) loads, bathes, ties, etc, does all the things. Same at a show as he is at home, a forward, energetic ride who appreciates clear aids. Low 5 figures, best home is a top priority for this fellow. Please let me know if you are interested before he is officially listed!

I know, I know, my photo taking skillz are sub-par. But, we had a great weekend at Campbell Valley a couple weekends ago and I didnt even post about it!!!! Hannah and Twilight, Callie and Grace O'Malley, and my one and only MUM Darlene and Joker! We got to see all our ebenting buddies, and enjoyed 3 days of competition with some of the best horse people around.

Our small group camps allow riders to have high quality horse time and instruction, and lots of hands on learning.
