I'm involved in a search for lost doggo with many people involved, coordinated via 2 FB groups. There were sightings during the outage and the search was so reliant on those groups it was almost paralyzing to not have FB. Everyone did their best but losing group comms made everything more time consuming and frustrating.

You know the game "Telephone". Passing around messages in an evolving situation never gets the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to the other end. Try passing a follow-up question back...

Much of my ongoing training/testing is different methods of communicating as a team on searches. They still involve software and internet but offer real time tracking of team members and ability to livestream drone feed to other members.

We now have Starlink and it will be online this spring. Will be testing broadcasting WiFi to team members nearby.

Message from ALERT, Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team, where I have volunteered for over a decade. I will be Level 1 by spring and responding to single home emergencies.

What most people don't know is how many Level 1s ALERT responds to. This year has been particularly bad and sad.

This morning we had a fire in Penticton that destroyed everything a family had. But, they are ok and thanks to the amazing ESS Volunteers and the Red Cross, they have a safe place to stay for a few days with their 3 large dogs.

When we respond, we include dog toys amongst the many other things they receive from us. But we are at the bottom of our toy barrel now. If you have any dog toys you are purging, large and small, or if you want to play Santa, we would welcome a clean toy for these special evacuees.

Donations can be dropped off to our Box 208 at the UPS Store 437 Martin Street, Penticton. Or contact me and I'll collect them.

Montana is safe! Thanks to a whole chain of people but esp Gabby who I found talking to Montana, and the wonderful Auntie Jacenda from Petra’s Pawdicures.

Thank you to everyone that help including Okanagan Humane Society OHS that is caring for needs and reuniting with her owner/guardian.

Hmm this would make a BOSS Drone Command Centre!

Sadly I can't use the lights or siren (on road lol), but that hood's big enough for me to land on and I can light up my entire outdoor area for safety.

I can't afford to buy now but looking for 4x4 ideas that people can stand up in. I can setup workstations and sleep inside in a pinch. Eventually the interior would look something like these 2 pretty photos. I have most of what goes inside but driving my pavement princess van has already prevented some searches.

If I had a rig like this I would be in Harrison Lake right now searching for another lost person. Well, SAR is back in so only if they end search and she's still missing.

Maybe someone would do a gofundme! 😉

I am pleased to have rejoined CASARA_National and PEPAir as an RPAS (Drone) Pilot. First meeting tomorrow!

Already training and their techniques are close to what I'm already doing, but with more team members which is awesome!

Adonica, her mom and I were all Certified Spotter volunteers 2 decades ago. It feels awesome to re-join on their RPAS Team and help save lives.

Do these pants make me look brilliant?

Taking today off, maybe tomorrow, so PLEASE don't lose anything or anyone. Totally Adrenal Fatigued after a week of FINDING STEPHANIE WOODCOCK. Flown over 200km, worked with tons of brilliant people, many new friends but still no Stephanie.

Just dropped off Adonica Sweet in Spain! Well, most of the way there, in Kelowna. The Air Canada peeps will do the last bit.

Three weeks alone for me, first time ever, going to be very quiet in here, cept for the 80's music...

I have been researching available pet trackers and Tractive seems to be the leader by far. If your pet is within cell phone tower range it should track them. Imagine knowing where your outside pet is and what their habits are by glancing at your phone!

They make dog/cat/large dog/adventure dog models. Prime days offers the best price I have seen, $42 CAD for cat model, same price on Tractive website. Service is about $10/month depending on contract and if you want to see 1 year history & set geo-fence alerts.

That is WAY cheaper and less stressful than hiring me when your dog runs after a deer. :)

I'm buying a few trackers:
- I'm "wearing" one for science
- My drone is getting one
- Any animal in my temporary custody is wearing one.

Please put a tracker on your beloved pet, so that I don't have to find them!

Some times things just don't work out the way that you planned (Powder Blues Band).

We're supposed to be at a NASCAR race that starts right now, at Watkins Glen in NY.

Our 3 month journey across Canada and back through USA was delayed by several factors. We would have been on the return leg heading home slowly through the northern states.

I could easily be emotionally crushed and a decade ago I certainly would have been, for weeks or months. There is no benefit in that, to anyone.

We have met some great people and had some amazing experiences in BC this summer including whale watching and sailing on a tall ship.

I met a lost dog and left my soul sucking delivery contract, now helping animals and people in some of their worst times.

We sold our tickets to Heart/Cheap Trick, Streetheart, Thomas Dolby and 7 other new wave artists, but we could not resell our NASCAR seats so they sit empty, right now.

Everything happens for a reason. We will go next year though it may be a shortened trip.

My plan is to build a small team that can continue the work of Lost Animal Finder as we fulfill our 22 year old vision to Cross Canada and see "EVERYTHING!"

We will both be working on the road. Adonica will be coaching clients around the world and I will be finding lost animals in BC, while parked near a waterfall, any waterfall, anywhere.
