I’m a ~2year old Male Bernedoodle and I’m looking for my forever home. 🏡

I walk well on a leash and get along with other dogs. I love everybody and walk well on my leash. I’m learning how to walk off leash as well! 🐕‍🦺

Did you know that it's the lowest adoption rates in over 40 years in North America? Rescues are full. Shelters are full. Waitlists grow longer every day and many good dogs end up euthanized for space in shelters who are left with no other choice but to make room for the incoming dogs. Here at Gibson's Legacy we have received zero applications for Daisy and Cowboy, who desperately want homes to call their own. HELP!

We have another new member of Gibson’s Legacy! Everyone meet Cowboy (formerly Coco). 🤠

Cowboy is an intact “Bernedoodle” who is approx 2years old. He came to us due to being a bit too rough with young children in the home and helping himself to one of his previous owners chickens 😬

Cowboy has very little foundation at this point and needs training in order to bring him up to speed. He counter surfs, he wants to chase small animals and wants to chew anything that isn’t a dog toy. He is however extremely friendly with people and wants affection all of the time. ❤️

He isn’t a huge fan of the other dogs in the house, getting fairly defensive of his kennel toward the other dogs while he is inside of it. 🐾

We are hoping that somebody with Doodle experience will see him and want to love him, as he may have some bad manners but is a puppy in a huge body (weighing over 70lbs with some filling out left to do). We are looking for a home where Cowboy will be the only pet and one without young children. Though we are making great first steps with his training, we are giving priority to candidates who are willing to hire a professional trainer as well. 🦮

He is healthy, doesn’t have any allergies and is a strong young dog who will flourish with somebody who is experienced with this goofy breed and understands him. 🐾

Miss Daisy is still waiting for her forever home!
She has been in rescue for over a year 🥺

This little lovebug is a ~3 year old Staffy Bull Terrier mix who is friendly with cats and gets along with other dogs after a few structured introductions (males or submissive females preferred). 🐾

Daisy came into our care after she was attacked very seriously by a large dog, leaving her with physical and emotional scarring. ❤️‍🩹

She is best suited to a home with experienced owners who don’t have young children and can keep up with her training, due to her being a resource guarder. 🐾

Daisy is trained to wear a muzzle for when she gets her nails clipped, but requires a slow and gentle approach with lots of treats in order to feel comfortable with her nail clipping. 🦴

This little spunky girl is extremely cuddly with her people and loves to receive belly rubs. She is also an all star at playing fetch and will proudly return the ball to you for another round. ⚾️

Crate and house trained, this girl loves to be pampered. She will make somebody a fantastic companion as she is as loyal as can be. Her people will need to advocate for her and keep strange dogs at bay until she has a few days to get to know them, as the attack left her very insecure with new dogs. 🐾

We want to send a huge shoutout and thank you to Blue Ribbon Pet Supply. They gave us an extremely generous donation of Orijen and Acana dog foods that amounted to 250lbs!!

We are so grateful to the wonderful staff and owner who are always so helpful when we are in their store.

We love Blue Ribbon for their products, some of which we can’t find anywhere else on PEI. One of our dogs is allergic to synthetics that are in 99% of dog food, but Blue Ribbon carries synthetic free options such as Carna4 and Hurraw!

If you’re headed to Blue Ribbon, make sure you tell them how awesome they are for choosing to support local nonprofit rescues like us!

This little cutie came into the rescue a couple of days ago! ❤️

Her name is Millie and she is a six year old Toy Miniature Schnauzer weighing in at 12lbs (but is a little overweight, she will be closer to 10lbs when in shape)! 🦮

She suffers from allergies that cause her to have skin issues, ear infections and a**l glad issues. She has been taking cytopoint injections every six weeks, but we hope she won’t need to continue them if her new hypoallergenic diet works for her! 🦴

We are going to hang onto her for a while and figure out what diet works best for her before making her available for adoption. 🏡

Roxie update!

Her surgery went smooth and she has healed up nicely!
The cancer didn’t seem to metastasize and her lymph nodes were clear!!

Hoping we have many more moons with miss Roxie girl and that this cancer stays away! We will need to check her mammary chain often and if any signs of trouble she will be back into the vet!

UPDATE: Rusty has a meet and greet on Saturday! Wish this boy luck... Rusty needs a child/cat free home. He will get along with 1 other dog in the home and preferably a female. But it really depends on the dog individually!

ANOTHER UPDATE! Lita is still available for adoption. This girl continues to surprise us, as we learn more about her. BONUES INFO : Lita is good with puppies and submissive adult dogs and kids that are 4+ (and gentle with doggies). She LOVES people with her whole heart and has a lot of fun silly energy. She'll be someone's absolute best pal. <3
