Out of the Shadows Animal Rescue is a small rescue that services Across Ontario as best we can! We strive to take in every animal we can, whether is has paws or claws or just a set of fins. All donations go 100% to the animals and their needs. This money will pay for medical expenses, food, dietary restrictions/special diets and many other things these pets may need. Anything helps, as this rescue is very small and is run completely off my very supportive volunteers and fosters!

⛔️ Sad to say I’m considering taking a break from the rescue world. ⛔️

Damn if we havnt all been here before eh rescue friends ?

Although it’s been my absolute love to be able to please many people with the addition of a new family member, it comes with so much sadness for all these surrenders and a huge self mental toll.

People will judge me, slander me and send me harassing messages because of a denied adoption . All because they are on fixed income and requesting a free adoption.

Or how about the cute little dog that they ask for that I know will hurt their child yet they seem to think , their child is unlike the rest! And blame me

All the Meanwhile the senior pup who’s been waiting for a child like he use to have ...
He sits and waits days and nights because his freckles and patchy hair are not Instagram worthy

They slander our costs because we are trying to compensate our fosters, bills and hard work.

People seem to forget the animals are with me 24 hours being trained and being cared for multiple hours of my and my fosters days so that 1 animals life didn’t end by someone else’s mistake. So we can change the world for that ONE animal

They forget we keep them alive so SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will finally say “thank god for you or I would never have ____ in my life”

I have gone so many years now with Out Of The Shadows Animal Rescue fighting these issues daily, mentally feeling drained with peoples lack of “humanity” or “morals” or even better kindness to others.

It’s made me SO SO strong but it’s also broke me after so so long

For many that don’t know I have had some struggles at home recently and want to recollect my time with the people who support and love me most. I need to regroup the support that REALLY keeps this rescue going and I feel I’ve slacked on that so much. I forgot about me and my feelings the happiness behind the rescue and found out most people don’t even know me outside of what I can offer.

I’m Thinking that although I will always have a heart to take in a dog or cat personally , the bigger scale picture may have to come to a close for a while. Focusing more on the supporting business and building my home and family.

It’s like a bad break up. Truly emotional over it as
It’s really hard to let go knowing how many people and animals could lose the last chance they have because I won’t offer my assistance anymore

But here it goes with prayers I/we come back even stronger. 🙏 and soon

Beautiful sassy- RENAMED

Previously named sassy has been spending some time at her wonderful foster mamas home learning how to share her space, attention and beds in a home environment! Her fosters were given the option of changing her name to something a better suit! They made a WONDERFUL choice of naming her Karma
In hopes that her past life would bring her a much better future!

Sassy is enjoying being with her foster parents!

This beautiful girl has been through so much. She was brought into rescue with her teeth kicked in and little did we know to start but also PREGNANT

She was very malnutritioned and we feared for her pregnancy. Sassy delivered beautiful nugget December 23, and we are very thankful it was just ONE pup as sassy would have a hard time delivering -Nugget is placed in his forever families home. 🐾

On top of her behaviour and physical issues from being in a neglected situation sassy now faced the ultimate fear of having her pup find a home before she did.

That’s where our supporters come in!
We were contacted by a close friend who knew JUST the person for the foster job and we have received good news since! - thank you 😊 you know who you are 💜

This Easter we are most thankful for our loving supporters who offer us the option to offer more pets a safe environment. Our fingers remain crossed that the vas experience of her foster mama will assist sassy in finding a new forever family

Earlier this week we were called last minute to take in a 7 month old lab mix! His name is Max

We asked for assistance for fosters and we’re connected to some pretty amazing people! You know who you all are and thank you 🙏

Max was giving his mama some hard times and she had to sadly part ways! Being at risk of heading to a shelter. OOTS jumped into action with the faith in our AMAZING support crew and got him into safty!

Max has been with his foster now for 2 days only and we received a message that he will not be placed on the adoption list as he fits right in.

We are sad to know we are down a foster but ESTATIC to know he is living in the most beautiful of places and with the most gentle of souls! 💜

It’s been very difficult for him to find a home!

Being that he is FIV positive he must be placed into a home with no other cats 🐈‍⬛ 😞

Although he can’t have any feline fur friends this beautiful boy would do very well with a active or relaxed family! He enjoys the company of kids as long as they don’t move to quietly!

Winter and Augustine are around 1 year of age and Very friendly piggies

They love to have access to fresh hay a large play yard and chew toys! Making a mess is what they do best and so a habitat must be approved by the rescue!

These little piggies found their way to a shelter when sadly allergies developed in the children’s the family !

Although we are very sad for the family we wanted to be sure we offered support when making a choice in future pets

Our close friends South Simcoe Pet Food Bank were in need of some dog and cat food!

With donations on hand for them !
but a dire need for small animal caging for us,
we were able to pull together and share our donations 💜😊

Little Nugget Opened His Eyes!

Little Nugget opened his eyes! Here is a fresh look at us and a fresh look at him! Nugget is son to Hercules and Momma Sassy both rescued from a drug related home in Toronto. Mama continues to do well but receives daily training outside her mothering tasks to benefit her confidence and behaviours for a potential new home! *NUGGET IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION*

UPDATE: ELSA NOW TESSA Has fit one of our applications from a family who adopted beautiful cosmo now Cesar! Cesar was adopted from us 6 years ago! We are thrilled to give him a little sibling to play with relax and show the ropes too! Updated photos in comments Meet Elsa! A beautiful 6 month old Maremmano-Abruzzese Sheepdog Elsa was surrendered to our rescue from a family with young children and cats that also had her around other dogs, She’s truly a good sweet girl but her size can be an issue with younger children and so for this reason we are requesting kids be over 10 years of age. The biggest downfall we could possibly find with Elsa is her separation anxiety she will need a family wiling to take her out and show her more of the world! For such a big lady she’s not experienced more then her yard and friends and so becomes nervous in new situations Elsas last family although loved her got called back to work and schedules changed ☹️ Instead of trying to make things work where they felt unbeatable they did the right thing and surrendered Elsa So her needs could be met and her courage built but most of all an appropriate home found! Although we would like to update everyone regarding this legal battle, we have agreed to not mention more surrounding the situation and will focus on the fact that our girl is home ! Noir and Amour *BONDED-SPECIAL NEEDS* Welcome to beautiful Noir and Amours story, Noir and Amour started out as two abandon kittens found with horrible infections to both of their eyes ,sadly causing to inevitably blind them both as medical care was not received as detailed as needed. These babies have been loved dearly by their finder in Egypt and she requested assistance as the medical expenses and medical care have capped out and the chances of finding a forever placement would be poor. Beautiful Luna Luna is a 10 month old Persian mix cat. She has been spayed (recently) and updated with shots. This sweet girl is a true , adventure kitty Day one she was surrendered she was brought to bass pro in Vaughn , there she met new people and other pets! Loved seeing the fish and exploring the rock bed Luna never lived with other animals so she is very shy and may stand her ground at first Although we have noticed with calm energy and slow interaction she shows interest in making new friends! And quite quickly She is a longer haired cat and will require regular grooming and brushing which she doesn’t have an issue with at all. She truly loves to be handled and cuddled and is a champion cuddle bug. If your interested in Luna send us a dm with your email ! The rescue will reply and send an application!
