Fall Preparations
It’s starting to feel like fall on the ranch. Nights are quite cool and damp but the sun does warm things up for glorious fall afternoons. I’ve heard the geese honking overhead and saw the Sandhill Cranes again, heading south.
We are busy getting winter feeding areas prepared for the beef herd. Our first Grass Finished Beef will be headed to the abattoir at the end of October, and ready in our freezers at the farm store about November 15th. Check out Tall Timber Cattle Co. for more information on our cattle, our beef and how you can partake of this delicious and healthy protein this winter.
The horses are starting to run our of fresh pasture, but we were blessed with plenty of rain and lush grass all summer this year. We have our winter hay stacked in the barn - so we are ready for the stormy blasts!
