Doctor Steve Wood is one of our veteran veterinarians having been with the practice since 1995. He has a passion for senior pet care, making sure pet parents have everything they need for longevity and vitality for their fur-family
If Dr. Wood was not a veterinarian we are convinced he would be on Master Chef. Dr. Wood is always bringing in delicious creations for the WRVH team to enjoy with many of the ingredients from his very own garden or the farms around his home.
Talk about a 90 mile culinary experience!
Dr Woods Strawberry salsa;
Ingredients:
3 cups strawberries
1 sweet onion
Garlic to taste
2 seeded jalapenos
Cilantro/coriander (or flat-leafed parsley if you're one of the 20% of the global population with the 'cilantro tastes like soap' gene)
2 limes juiced and zested
Method: wash and dice all ingredients. Juice half the strawberries and Jalapenos then combine in a large serving bowl. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy

🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car: Even a few minutes can be dangerous as temperatures inside can soar quickly.
🐾 Protect those paws: Pavement and asphalt can get extremely hot. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!
🏠 Stay cool: Ensure your pets have access to shade, fresh water, and a cool place to rest.
💦 Hydration is key: Always have water available for your pets, especially during walks or outdoor activities.

Dr. Ruth Kennedy has seen generations of fur-family members come through the WRVH doors in her 35 years with the practice. She enjoys all aspects of animal health care, her passion and curiosity manifesting in a pursuit of the latest techniques and technologies supporting pet wellbeing.
Dr. Kennedy is methodical in all aspects of her practice be it her thorough investigation of what is ailing a pet and the procedures or protocols that will see them back to optimal health as soon as possible or her collections of cool and useful organizers and stationary adorning her desk (we love a good stationary collection!).
Dr. Kennedy is one of the loveliest people you'll meet on your day-to-day; with a quiet confidence that lets you know your fur-baby is in good hands.
When she is not tending to her patients, Dr. Kennedy seeks adventure and road trips in her 2024 Mustang, complete with racing stripes. That beast can roar!
We will be closed from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Thursday the 15th of August for a staff meeting and training on PetDesk (coming soon). If you would like to pick up food or medications on that day please stop on by before or after that time.
