Thought I'd give a long overdue update on Buna and Ivy! Both have had their toes heal up nice since around April, and they're both at a perfect weight!

Buna is a very good mother. And Ivy.. sits on her eggs all day with no mate to help her 😅 I'm hoping that will change soon, and she'll pair with Isaac, a new Orange Pied I've purchased! (I'll be posting about him later!)

Our Alaska x Buna chicks are growing fast! I believe the darker one is a Wild Type and the lighter one is an Ash!

We also had 2 Diamond Doves hatch! I know the darker one is Blue Pied, but I'm unsure as to the base color of the brown one 🤔 My pair must be carrying something I didn't know about, very excited to see how they grow! 🥰

Our Pink chick is growing fast! We've also had 2 chicks hatch from our Pied and Ash pair (Buna and Alaska!) Hoping one is Frosty or Ash so I can keep it for a future Ice breeding project! 🥰

I've had my first White hatch a few days ago! This confirms that Bo carries White, and that Ivy is also mating with Bo as she had a White hatch a while ago too 😊

The Tangerine bird is Arthur, he helps Bo and Elizabeth with their eggs and chicks!

3 month old Comet's first try at wooing a female, Cornelia. Cornelia was just looking for cheese, and Comet took that as a good time to show off! Their coos sound so funny when they're young! 🤣

Elizabeth (my white female) has laid her very first eggs! 🥰 Unfornately, she decided to lay one while sitting on a perch and it fell to the ground and cracked open 😅 But I found her second one in a Diamond Dove nest!
She doesn't have a mate yet and is young, so she hasn't been sitting on the egg.

I decided, in case its somehow fertile, to put it under my pied female (Buna) and let her incubate it along with her egg that she laid on the same day as Elizabeth's first egg. I've also placed a fake egg in Elizabeth's nest to let her get some practice with incubating and protecting her nest. Maybe she'll finally decide which nest is hers! 🤣

Very excited for Buna and Alaska's first egg! Alaska is an Ash male, so I'm hoping for a Frosty or Ash baby so I can then pair it with another Pied carrier and get some Frosty Pieds (my favorite pheno)!

Connor

Connor is the chunkiest bird in the flock. He is paired up with Cornelia, and he protects her fiercely. He does has a funny relationship with his Uncle Gale; him and Gale often sit in the nest together to incubate Cornelia's eggs. Connor often flies to me to coo and, and loves a good scritch on the neck and cheek. He is around 6 years old. He gets his poofieness from his father, Ginger. His mother is Grace. 🥰
