Introduction:
Harrison’s Bird Foods is pleased to announce a call for proposals for grants in the field of avian nutrition, avian wellness and avian conservation. This grant opportunity aims to support research and conservation projects that contribute to the understanding and promotion of health, nutrition, conservation, and overall well-being in avian species.

Focus Areas:
Proposals may address but are not limited to the following focus areas:
- Nutritional requirements for different avian species
- Effects of diet on avian health and wellness

EXCITING NEWS

We are very excited to announce that this summer, we will be inviting members of the public for tours of our centre!

As the animals in our care can often be fearful, viewing the animals is usually for prospective adopters only. This opportunity gives members of the public a chance to see behind the scenes, learn about what we do, and meet some of the animals in our care.

Most Fridays from 19th July until the end of August, we will be running a tour at 11:30am. This is a pilot project, and if successful, we hope to extend dates for tours throughout the year.

These tours will be offered for free, but donations are greatly appreciated to continue caring for the vulnerable animals in our community.

ALL UNDER 18s MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.

We have a limited number of spaces available, to ensure that we don't cause stress for the animals in our care. A lipoma is a benign tumor of fat. It is mostly seen in middle-aged to older animals. These tumors can vary in terms of their rate of growth (some may remain the same size for years) but become problematic for your pet when they grow in locations that impact their ability to walk or cause discomfort. Lipomas can grow anywhere (even inside the abdomen), but the most common place is under the skin where fat is normally present. They may grow in between layers of muscle or may grow in a location that causes your pet discomfort whenever they walk.
