from Carnivora it’s their new “PEA” (Palmitoylethanolamide). In short Palmitoylethanolamide is documented to counteract inflammation, itch and pain. In full terms “PEA, is a naturally occurring fatty acid compound found in plants and animals. PEA has natural anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and analgesic (pain-killing) properties. PEA works by supporting the healthy function of glial (nerve) and mast (immune) cells in the body. We are still learning the totality of the benefits of PEA, but research has indicated it may be beneficial for:

Nerve pain in common conditions such as arthritis, Caudal Occipital Malformation Syndrome (COMS), and Syringomyelia (SM).
Cystitis and chronic urinary tract disease.
Osteoarthritis pain, neuropathic pain, dental pain, orthopedic pain.
Allergies (reduces itching and skin lesions).
Mast cell tumors.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
PEA does not directly block pain signals the way opioids and analgesics do. Instead, PEA is a part of our natural signalling system, and is not an NSAID, opioid, or steroid.”

Kyle came to visit us in the store today and he was absolutely delightful. It’s really surprising that he’s spent so long in the shelter. Stay tuned for a live stream of his “pity party” on the 26th.

This beautiful husky's name is Kyle! Kyle has been with us at the shelter for far too long. His stay is about to hit one year and we're really hoping to find him a forever home before he reaches that milestone.

Kyle is looking for a home with a yard where he can go outside and adventure! He will also do better with no other animals in the home.
