The Surrey Animal Resource Centre is the animal control facility for the City of Surrey which is the 2nd largest city in BC and the 12th largest city in Canada with a population of over 518,000. The centre helps animals and humans in our community through licensing, reuniting animals with their owner, and adopting out those who do not have an owner.
These are animals that we are looking to reunite with their families. These animals are not available for adoption. If you believe your pet is at the shelter as a stray please call the shelter directly at 604-574-6622 and leave a message with your name, phone number, and the ID number of the animal.

ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
These albums contain the photos of animals available for adoption. We do our best to keep these albums as up to date as possible, however we cannot guarantee their availability. If you see an animal you are interested in adopting please call the shelter at 604-574-6622 or email [email protected] to inquire about them.
Applications are sent out once you have had a conversation with our adoption desk about the animal you are interested in. Due to the volume of applications we receive we are not able to keep them on file or maintain a waiting list.

Tips:
*In Foster to Adopt* means that the animal has an approved application and is in foster until further medical treatments or behavioral treatments can be completed.
*Come Meet Me at PetSmart* Animals that are currently at our offsite adoption centre, PetSmart Boardwalk in Guildford, Surrey BC.
*Transferred to Rescue* Animals will sometimes be transferred to rescues for many reasons including:
If they have special needs that are beyond what can be managed in shelter
If the shelter is at capacity and other partner shelter have space to take in adoptable animals
We don’t list where the animal was transferred to unless the rescue asks us to - as many rescues have different intake and processing procedure and the animal may not be placed up for adoption immediately.
