‘Tis the Season for Giving! ☃️🎄🎁

“Blu” (our manager Cathy’s dog♥️) says everyone should come and donate and get their picture taken with the Christmas tree📸

This Christmas we are raising CASH donations for Sources Food Bank. If you donate you are entered to win one of two gift baskets! So far we have raised just over $250! We are so excited to be giving back to the community in a meaningful way.

Believe it or not, another Good Samaritan has brought us a found dog. He is an intact male, Bernese Mountain Dog mix, and a bit skittish. He has no microchip, tattoo, or collar.

He was found at 204 St. and 28 Ave in Langley at approx 7am this morning. He was found with two other dogs roaming around (1 white very fearful dog and 1 black golden retriever looking dog) however the other 2 dogs ran away.

A Good Samaritan has just brought us this female Labrador Retriever mix or purebred. She has no microchip or tattoo. Very friendly and approx no older than 5 years old.

She was found roaming on King George Blvd and 152 St.

‼️UPDATE‼️: “Percy” is home safe! Thank you to everyone who shared and kept an eye out for him. We are so happy to report he is resting at home now.

Attention clients, friends, and family:

One of our patients “Percy” aka Percival, has gone missing from his home. He did not return home on Tuesday evening. His owners alerted us to this and we have offered our help to get the word out. “Percy” is an extremely gentle boy and very sweet. He is microchipped, neutered, and approx 2 years old. If you find him please call his owners at the numbers listed in the picture or call our clinic at 604-531-8222, thank you.

ATTN friends and fur babies, one of our veterinarians found this dog in front of her house this morning around 9am on McMillan Road in Surrey, BC. He is a small Yorkshire terrier, not-neutered, missing a lot of teeth, estimated 8 years old or older. He is microchipped, but not registered. It is with great pleasure we announce, that we are preparing for our reopen tomorrow! After seven days of closure some of our staff members are now able to return to work, allowing us to reopen our doors once more! (Please see our website for our regular business hours).

Dear Clients (and our lovely patients), it is with a heavy heart that we announce after a successful two years of keeping the clinic free of COVID-19, 5 of our staff members have contracted COVID-19.

Due to the dramatic decrease in available staff members, we are forced to close our clinic doors at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding. You will still be able to leave us voicemails and emails that we will respond to as soon as the clinic is open again.

☀️ ☀️ Heat Warning!! ☀️ ☀️

With the upcoming heat wave, keeping your pets safe is a top priority

Please see some tips below for navigating this heat wave safely

• Always allow access to fresh water (add ice cubes to keep water cool)

• Turn on your air conditioning and allow access to a cool well-ventilated space

• Never leave your animals alone in a parked car (parking in shade offers little protection)

• Hot concrete/sand and asphalt will burn the pads of your dog/cats feet! If it is too hot to touch with your palm, IT IS TOO HOT for their feet

• Schedule walks for early morning and late evening before peak sun

• Avoid exercise during peak sun hours

‼️SIGNS OF HEATSTROKE ‼️

• Excessive panting
• Hyperventilation/wheezing
• Lethargy, weakness
• Increased heart rate
• Breathing distress
• Bright red tongue
• Drooling, salivating
• Collapsing and lying down
• Signs of mental confusion
• Dizziness, staggering

If any of these sign occur:

1) Remove your pet from the hot environment immediately
2) Give your veterinarian a phone call
