Equestrian Assistant

I'm looking for a part-time personal assistant for Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:30 – 11:30 AM in South Surrey.

Responsibilities & Requirements:
• Experience handling warmbloods.
• Grooming and tacking up and knowledge of after care.
• Ability to recognize signs of good and poor horse health
• Reliable, good communicator, and a team player

Transportation needed as there is bus route nearby. This is a paid position.

Hazelmere Equestrian Center – Where Luxury Meets Function

We have one stall available for immediate occupancy, March 15th or April 1st.

Our facility offers top-tier amenities for dressage enthusiasts, including a dust-free indoor arena with full short-side mirrors to refine your skills. Each 12x12 stall features rubber matting and an automatic watering system for your horse’s comfort.

Horses enjoy 10+ hours of daily individual turnout in paddocks with shelters for protection from the elements.

Outdoor amenities include:
• Summer fields
• Two outdoor arenas (one dressage, one with optional jumps)
• Hacking track
• Round pen

Additional features:
• Heated tack room with individual lockers
• Heated grooming stalls
• Hot/cold wash rack
• Trailer parking available (limited, extra fee)

We feed premium Timothy hay four times daily, with supplemental Alfalfa.

Coaching Available:
Rochelle Kilberg, a certified High Performance Dressage Coach, is available to help you take your riding to the next level.

If you’ve ever seen me compete or attend a clinic, you’d know my dad was always right there by my side. From loading the trailer in the early mornings to cheering from the sidelines and reminding me to believe in myself, he was my unwavering support system.

Whether it was long hauls traveling to California for competitions or being there for every ride, he never missed a moment. His faith—both in me and in the higher power—was always a guiding light. He encouraged me to trust the journey, strive for my best, and approach everything with gratitude and belief.

This picture is a beautiful reminder of his presence, his dedication, and the spiritual strength he brought into every moment.

Last Saturday, we lost my biggest supporter, my motivator, and my hero. My heart feels heavy, but I’m endlessly grateful for the lessons he taught me, the memories we shared, and the faith he inspired in me.

Thank you for everything, Dad. You were more than a supporter—you were a legend. Your love and faith will forever guide me. ❤

Your dedication and hard work brought our community together for a weekend full of learning and growth. Special thanks to Dieter Laugks from Germany for sharing his insights on throughness, relaxation, and balance. His emphasis on well-rounded training was inspiring, and it was incredible to see the progress in each horse.

It was Hoejbo (aka Beaux) and my first outing in a large spectator environment, and he was a superstar—handled it like a champ! A big thank you to my dad, my biggest cheerleader, for making it possible to have such a special horse. Here’s to building on these lessons and continuing to strive for excellence! 🐴💫

Meet Ana, our lovely 11-year-old mare standing tall at 16.3hh. Ana is as sweet and kind as they come, with a knack for schooling first and second level dressage movements. She has a good-natured temperament that makes her a joy to be around.

This part lease opportunity is on-property only, giving you the chance to form a special bond with Ana in her familiar surroundings at Hazelmere Equestrian Center in South Surrey. We're seeking an experienced intermediate-level rider who can appreciate Ana's talents.

As part of the lease agreement, we ask that you commit to a weekly dressage lesson with Rochelle Kilberg, Ana's experienced coach. Rochelle will ensure you both continue to progress and reach your goals together.

In the world of equestrian sports, there’s already plenty of advice floating around from coaches, judges, and trainers.

What’s really needed, though, is more camaraderie and support.

Let’s set aside our egos and focus on our own journeys while cheering on others in theirs. Being good sports means wishing each other luck, looking out for one another, and celebrating each other’s successes, regardless of the outcome.

Let’s offer a helping hand when we can and don’t hesitate to ask for assistance when needed.

Together, let’s strive to be better riders and friends, for the sake of ourselves, our horses, and our community.
