Update: we cannot believe that Jace had no adoption applications in his time with us. Because he was struggling emotionally in the shelter environment, he has been transferred to a rescue.

Jace is a charming, pint-sized companion with a lot of personality! He is looking for a family who can offer him a balance of activity and calm, and a place where he can feel safe and loved. If you’re ready for a lively, loyal little friend, Jace could be your guy!
He’s friendly and outgoing, always ready to say hello to anyone he meets. He is talkative and expressive, making him an entertaining and endearing addition to the home. Jace is cuddly, likes to sit on your lap, and is comfortable with being picked up. He bonds quickly with people, and when they leave him, he can be a bit anxious (spins and cries). He needs a patient, understanding family who can help him feel secure. Jace is quite sad when he's in his kennel here at the shelter, as he'd much rather be cuddled up with people or out for a walk in the neighbourhood.
We think Jace might do well with respectful, well-matched kids. He chased and barked at the cat in his previous home, so a feline-free environment would be best. However, he could be a good match for a compatible female dog.
Jace was vocal in his previous home, an older apartment building, which the neighbours reportedly did not appreciate. Please keep that in mind if you live in a home with shared walls. He seems to be housetrained, but when he smelled another male dog's scent on a bed, he did mark it. We think this will be a possible behaviour if the home has another dog, but we don't anticipate it will be an ongoing issue.
Jace is approximately 1 year old, weighs 10 lbs, has been vaccinated, defleaed & dewormed, and will be microchipped and neutered on November 14th, before he goes to his new home. His adoption fee is $350 + tax.
