To our wonderful Island Dog Lodge family,

We have a heartfelt update to share. After much reflection, we have made the decision to phase out our daycare service effective December 19, 2025, and focus solely on overnight lodging and training. Daycare will continue as usual until then.

This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a mix of gratitude, excitement, and a little bit of sadness. Our overnight lodging has grown in ways we never could have imagined, and with that growth comes the responsibility to stay true to who we are and what we do best. While we love every dog who walks through our doors, we know in order to keep our team small, hands on, and deeply connected with every dog in our care- we must focus on the services where we can make the biggest difference.

As Island Dog Lodge has grown, so has our passion for creating a true “home away from home” for the dogs who stay with us. We’ve come to realize that our deepest joy and our strongest purpose comes from caring for the dogs who settle in, who learn, who grow, and who truly thrive under our guidance.

Moving forward, our passion and purpose will be centered on:

*EXCEPTIONAL LODGING & ENHANCEMENT SERVICES

*PERSONALIZED TRAINING & NUTRITION GUIDANCE

This focus has inspired us to elevate what we offer: upgraded amenities, added comforts, and a level of care that reflects our commitment to the wellbeing of every dog who stays with us.

We know this change may require some families to make new arrangements, which is why we are sharing this in advance. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Even in the colder months, the pups are still soaking up all the backyard fun safely and comfortably. Our dogs rotate in and out all day long, giving them the perfect balance of fresh air, playtime, and warm-up breaks.

When the chill sets in, everyone comes inside for a cozy reset usually involving blankets, snuggles, and a good dog-friendly movie playing in the background. Once they’re warmed up and recharged, it’s right back outside for more exploring, sniffing, and zoomies!

Winter may be here, but the fun definitely doesn’t stop!

We’re Hiring!
As we head into a busy winter season, Island Dog Lodge is looking to add a few new Canine Handlers to our team.

What you’ll do:
• Supervise dogs in group and one-on-one play
• Monitor behaviour and keep everyone safe
• Assist with training and enrichment
• Handle daily care, feeding, and cleaning

We’re looking for someone who:
• Is confident with dogs of all sizes
• Is reliable, safety-minded, has a great memory, and works well with a team
• Can handle a fast-paced, physical environment
• Has dog experience or a willingness to learn
