Jax is no stranger to being featured on our social media pages. Many folks know that he is typically not looking for any new dog or human friends.
With that in mind, safety is always a focus at training, and Jax does not get freedom.
With construction going on, I have changed our training spot (a little), and therefore, with today's agility, I had everything set up differently.
This was great for Jax, and he was able to do some activities without his leash on. What a good guy!
Gemini, our board and train, has been with us for a five days now. She has been working on a variety of things, but today I wanted to highlight how well her heel is coming.
She is doing well with taking direction, staying in place, not pulling on leash, and doing a stop and sit when I stop. Additionally the leash is able to be in a nice and loose position, and she is checking in.
Luna, our board and train, spent a large portion of the day outdoors. She was practicing her skills, having new experiences, and some fun too.
She did really well today with her reactivity! Go Luna!
I will head over to stories and upload some additional photos and videos.
What do I love about Life Skills & Beyond? This video gives a little insight into it π. I love the support and watching people cheer for each other. I love watching owners have proud moments and jump with excitement. It is an amazing feeling to watch people continue to work on their dogs.
I am blessed that I get to do what I do and celebrate with such amazing owners. These two were rock stars π π€©! The excitement at the end was the absolute best.
We believe in celebrating all success. Success looks different for everyone, and any amount deserves being celebrated.
Tippy, our board and train, liked to be a "velcro" dog. This means he liked to be as close to the handler as possible. Particularly when doing outdoor activities. This can make creating distance and working on stay difficult.
He has been working on this and we are seeing great progress. Good Job Tippy!
Next up is a Luna Update. Also, I am about to upload a variety of their activities to my stories. Tippy and Luna have been shopping , visiting parks, practicing car manners, working on nail grooming, fine tuning their obedience commands, etc. Lots of experiences happening for them.
Tippy has been working on his heel. He is doing so well with it. I live his check-in at the end!
I am going to upload a bunch to stories. My phone was acting up yesterday, and I didn't share anything. Time to catch everyone up on the lives of Tippy and Luna.
Sofia was chasing sun beams today π βοΈ! I think many of us are chasing any signs of Spring πͺ»πΌ. Which of course includes more sunshine!
Attention folks: We will have sessions today. We have been out and about today and investigated the training site.
We even checked out Townsend Street and Kings Road (typical flood zones).
The temperature is mild, and the training site is clear. There is one spot at the courtyard that has water pooling. You will be able to see that clearly and able to enter the courtyard through one of the other spots.
Lauchie is on day three of boarding with us. Even with the storm, he has been a rock star. He settled in immediately and fell right into routine.
It is disappointing that for obvious reasons we haven't had any outdoor adventures or car trips. We will be eager to do so when things are cleared. However, we are making the best of it! We have been focusing on lots of drills, play time, and mental stimulation in the house. He has been particularly curious when Selene shows up (tail pictured here π).
Obviously, no surprise to anyone.... due to weather, all sessions are canceled for today.
I hope you all are safe, warm, and cozy! The most important thing is that everyone stays safe through our many days of snow.
Good morning, folks! I often talk about Sunday being my favorite day. What does a Sunday morning look like for me?
I wake up before the sun has risen, but I stay in bed snuggled up with the dogs (and, of course, Jason), and I read. Eventually, I realize it's time to drag myself out of that cocoon.
I make my way downstairs where the cats are definitely causing trouble, but beyond happy I have joined them π.
Here is what it looks like:
πΉοΈ I light a candle to get those relaxing vibes going. This candle from Lillian and Co is not only cute
but smells so good!
πΉοΈI get going with my warm lemon water and vitamins
πΉοΈ I pull my morning affirmation card and get out this fabulous book and look up today's date.
πΉοΈI watch the cats cause trouble.
πΉοΈI listen to 7 good minutes and make breakfast.
Once all this is done, I will start responding to messages and review today's to-do list. I always take the morning for myself, but I do love some productivity in the day, too πβ€οΈ. The morning me time really is so relaxing.

It was a cold day today for training. Life Skills actually worked on the place command, but while people waited for their practice turn, we used the agility equipment to keep moving and stay warm.
Look at Charlie and his tunnel skills!
Today's Life Skills & Beyong group was doing some trick training. tricks can be a great way to have fun and work their brains. Here is Martin learning to spin... he decided he didn't want to stand versus Ruby... who normally does everything in slow motion but was energetic today πβ€οΈπΆπ

Reaper, our board and train, is down to the last few days of his stay. Today, he was enjoying lots of time out on the trails, practicing his skills, and exploring.
Tomorrow will be go home session number one. Now I am off to upload some more of his videos to stories. Did you know? That we keep a highlight of his stories over on Instagram. You can check that out and catch a glimpse of some of his activities.
Reaper, our board and train, is enjoying his neighborhood adventures. Luckily, we live in a fairly busy area, and it provides lots of distractions to work with.
In this photo, he is on a loose slip lead. This means that no leash pressure is being used to keep him in heel. We teach them to heel on our left and do a stop and sit whenever we stop. He is doing really well with this and keeping his focus on handler.
Good job!
