There's a doggy cold going around Thorndale and surrounding area. Vets have not labelled it kennel cough, but a "cold". Watch and monitor your pets, keep them home if sick to help stop the spread.
It passes thru them within a few days just like regular colds for you and I. Rest & Water and yummy foods.
Stay healthy ! If you need to cancel or reschedule let us know. We do our very best with cleaning, sanitizing and purifying.

Oakley is sweet and kind, he loves being loved 💙 please friends share to your profiles and let's get this guy a home.
Although we adore him he deserves a couch to sleep on.

I've tried a million times to write this- but my tears fill up my eyes and I can't find the words. So here it is

Oakleys adoptive home took him to our boarding kennel and left him, they are not returning for him. Why? Personal life issues and he peed in the basement, they refused to hire a dog walker, nor block off areas with 6ft gate, refused a trainer we offered and despite me saying he must stay on limited ingredient salmon, they gave him pedigree. Am I mad...no...disappointed yes.

He has a bad ear infection and although he loves the ladies at the kennel (Countryside in Thorndale)this is not a home for him

Oakley needs a home he can hang out in the yard, the people are home or goes for an outing at lunch, can feed limited ingredient salmon. He can be selective on men, loves the ladies, proper introduction needed ( he barks nothing serious just likes to make a statement)

For now we will get him feeing great and ears cleared up.

Due to the heat advisory we will be following a safety protocol.
We will have all dogs start on splash and move to regular yards. Plays will definitely be cut to about 1/2 or more. We will get them out as much as we can but everyone needs to stay healthy. We will fill kiddie pools with water and have the hoses out to supply cold drinks. Dog doors will be open minimally to keep as much AC in as possible.
And if you have a senior, a puppy or a "smush" face please consider keeping them home.
If you have concerns let us know.

As we are coming into the busy season. Please upload vaccines to your profile or email them thru the site portal. We need to visibly see proof they were done and it speeds up drop off for everyone. We cannot take unvaccinated pets unless you have a letter from your vet exempting them. Titre tests are accepted. We require AGE APPROPRIATE vaccines. If there is a doubt please call or email so we can work it out.
And a reminder our splash pad is getting a makeover and will be open. MAY long wknd for the summer.

INTRODUCING BUDDY it's a long one but let's find a happy ending for our new bff
Hello!! my name is Buddy. I’m 7 year old neutered male akita/border collie mix looking for my furever home. Sadly, my parents passed away so I am looking for a new best friend. I’m currently staying at Countryside Kennel while I wait to get adopted. I’m a happy go lucky dog and I LOVE attention. I love spending my time getting my belly rubbed and lying outside. I’m a pretty laid back/calm dog and would enjoy just hanging out at home on the couch but I also love activities as well. I have lots of fun playing fetch and I’m good on a leash for walks. I am social with other dogs but sometimes I get a bit too friendly and start hu***ng just a regular dog behavior that can be changed. On the other paw, I’m not the biggest fan of cats and will need a home that’s a cat free zone. I would also do better in a house that has older children and a non-dominant dog with an introduction to let us meet to see if we will be best friends. I am house trained and won’t leave messes, you could find me on my bed when you arrive home from your day.

Solar eclipse 2024
After some advice and research, the solar eclipse is deemed safe for our pets however we will rearrange our day to ensure you and they feel safe.
Pets do have the aversion to look but temperature change and darkness may spook them a bit. We have decided to do all plays, walks, group outings and 1on1s in the morning and lunch.
We will do our sanitizing of runs and kennels in the 2.5 hour window where the eclipse is at its prime. If you choose to cancel or rearrange please feel free, we are happy to change dates so you comfortable.
Our staff will have protective eyewear provided and will also be encouraged to stay inside. We can also give extra indoor cuddles or treats.

Our friends over at Countryside Kennel held a holiday fundraiser for us and raised a whopping $1000.00 dollars to go directly to our senior dogs!

These funds will help pay for Oreo and Jack's surgeries that they underwent earlier this week (by the way- they are both doing well!).
