We have one more week of horse camp that we’re doing! Come for one day or all three. These kids have a such good time and they learn so much. They become farm kids for the day, they’ll come home with a smile and a bit of dirt but I guarantee they had an absolute blast!

Hidalgos going to be a mama again! I just want a healthy foal, but if I could be picky I’d love to see a filly from this pairing.

One outdoor board space available ✨

Hidalgos Homestead is proudly offering a boarding spot for your consideration. We have 4 spacious pastures and currently fencing off 4 more acres.

We just expanded our already great sized sand outdoor arena another 40ft. We also have TWO round pens, a 70ft wooden round pen and a 60ft panel one.

We have a fenced off bush for trail rides. We have a great group and if you’re wanting a riding buddy I’m sure the other boarders would love to join you. Our barn is very unique in that we have genuine friendships, we have bonfires and bbqs, road trips together, christmas potluck etc. We are a relaxed barn, we sit outside in lawn chairs and just stare at “our money” eating in the pasture.

A few of us plan to show this year and on so there’s potential to join in that. We are ever expanding and updating the farm. In the two short years we have been here ALOT has been updated and made better. I try my best to accommodate everyone and make this a second home for my boarders.

We are a smaller, modest barn but we have a lot of things to offer that people love. We are doing a lot of upgrades this year and will continue to grow each week that passes. Your horse can be a horse here. If you feel as though this may interest you, please message me or the barn page.

Caesar ✨ Chrome project for your consideration.

Caesar is my own personal project that I have put in the back burner to attend my client horses better. Caesar is about 9 years old give or take, unsure of his breed but it’s been a fun guessing game for anyone who’s met him. Hes around 14.2 hands but do not scoff at his height, he has a very large presence and he feels at least a hand taller then that. He is NOT a small horse. Draft energy. He’s been sound the entire time I’ve had him despite needing a pedicure. I know if someone put the time into him he’d be THE horse. The go to favourite I have no doubt.

The “bad” is, he can be hard to catch, and he likes to be naked and won’t keep a breakaway on. He’s obviously needing his feet done aswell. What he needs is time and a patient person. He has ripped the leadline from my hands and left me with some rope burn. That being said, Caesar would do anything for a cookie. He has no shortage of love for food.

He’s is extremely kind and sweet, he wants to be around you but he can overthink it sometimes and get flighty. He rather enjoys a forehead scratch and then he allows you to move to his shoulder and so on from there.

In a previous home, he was lunging tacked up well. He was easy to catch. I’m not one of those people that needs to get it done as fast as I can and I have no expectation of Caesar as it stands. I just had a good feeling about him and took him home. The feeling is still there but it’s met with a touch of guilt that I haven’t had much time with all the projects I have this summer.

If you’ve taken the time to read this far and you have an interest in Caesar please note, he needs an experienced person. He will not be sold to the first person who throws money at me. I will be extremely picky and there’s a high probability he stays here anyways. I’m very emotionally back and fourth in this decision. I love Caesar very much.

The posts are in, ready to be set. Atleast four more acres for the horses to run and play. Thank you Rob & CJ for doing the blunt of the work and Payton & Bella for the odds and ends today. Productive day.

Also extending our already large riding arena another 40ft for a total of 120x115 riding arena. Keep an eye for when we host rec rides.

We have two spots open for Payton’s Pony training.

If you have a pony who you’d like to get started or needing a refresher. Behaviour problems etc. Payton is extremely passionate about working with these guys and making them as safe as possible for their future little riders. She’s saving up for a barrel horse so she has opened up two spaces for the month of August.
