Leptospirosis is not only a very dangerous disease for our pets but it is also zoonotic, which means it is transferable to humans. We always recommend vaccinating for Leptospirosis,but if you do have a pet that is not vaccinated but goes on walks, swims at the cottage, drinks from puddles etc, then please call to chat with one of our technical team members who can advise on how to protect your pet and yourself.

If you travel back and forth to the USA with your dog, please ensure you are 100% familiar with the new regulations just handed down by the CDC (Centre for Disease Control USA). The CFIA and the CDC are still in talks as to how they can limit the impact on Canadians and Americans travelling with their pets. We are seeing changes on their websites every day and these rules are still not finalized, making it challenging for travelers and Veterinarians alike. If you are not 100% compliant you could be turned away at the USA border.

For our American visitors, if you are visiting and plan to return home (USA) after August 1st, the new regulations put into affect by the CDC may make it difficult to take your dog back home with you. Please visit the CDC website to ensure you are familiar with the new rules and ensure you are able to comply. If not then a quick return home on July 31st might be a consideration. Please consult your Veterinarian in the US for advice.

Beautiful Bonded Pair of Labs Seeking Forever Home: After the passing of their beloved owner, Buddy and Blaze, five year old lab x siblings found themselves at the Georgian Triangle Humane Society. They are very calm & sweet and mellow. They will happily lay at your feet all day or go on a walk (or even jog). They are housebroken, very patient with meals and going out. They are timid at first but once they know/trust you will share their whole heart with you. Do you have space in your home/heart for them?
