My broken foot is better now. Still some remodeling of the bone to go through but it is healing well with no chance of problems.
However. . . In the 4-5 months of inactivity I gained some weight. So operation winter diet and increase of activity has started and is already showing results. Though activity hasn't increased much due to the snow unless you count trudging through it for farm chores. There will definitely be regular snowshoeing this year, starting tomorrow as we go into our woods to find a Christmas tree.

I love my cow Nellie, she is the cutest!! She is also the loudest cow ever which may have been a factor in why she was sold, but I don't mind.
She loves to repay pets with kisses. Whenever she sees me she runs from wherever she is, kicking up her heals and frolicking along the way. She let's me know when I have disappointed her but doesn't hold a grudge and forgives quickly. She is smart and is careful around me for I am small and squishable. I love my Nellie!

Mable, our lgd, unalived her first critter in defense of our farm last night. We are very proud of her. . . But. . . The critter was black with white stripes! 🤢 she cornered it and got the skunk in her house and got sprayed in her face. Trooper that she is, she got the job done before she puked 🤮. Now we all get to experience all the nuances of eau de skunk for the next few days.

A very beautiful sunset and a hint at some new birds.

Lost 2 chickens. But things are improving for everyone else. When we left the goats had a cleaned out stall loaded with fresh hay and tons of fresh dry bedding to snuggle in. Mable the dog is fine and mittens the kitten is also doing well.
