Our family-run farm offers an outdoor sand riding arena, a 72x138 indoor riding arena, full sets of jumps, and a tack room. We have part-board opportunities for the students who are interested in competing and outdoor board for our students, grass paddocks, daily turnouts, and a clean maintained facility to ensure a safe environment. Lessons are conducted on safe, well-trained horses and ponies. The focus of the program is riding skills as well horse care and horsemanship. From beginners to advanced, all participants are welcome. Our goal is to teach students to tack up, walk, trot and canter. Safety is always our priority and, in addition to developing basic riding skills, students will also learn to handle horses from the ground. Stable management lessons will cover such topics as barn safety, grooming, and equipment use and care.We are also active participants in schooling shows /Trillium/ A Cirquit and therapy riding.

To our beloved students and friends. There have been some rumours going around that Greenstone is shutting down. This is not the case. Yes we are selling some non-school horses and looking for a new property, but lessons are continuing as normal until further notice. Thank you!!

Greenstone equestrian VOLUNTEER position available:

Come join the Greenstone family! Our facility is located just 15 min outside of Barrie. This a unique volunteer opportunity to assist in a tight knit equestrian facility. Roles and responsibilities would include assisting the instructor on staff as needed, assisting young riders tacking up their horse, practicing safe horse handling, adequately demonstrating safe horse handling to young riders, and assisting with other chores as needed. Mucking stalls and feeding horses , Assets would include previous horse experience and or riding experience. Would be willing to train the right individual. We are currently searching for someone to overtake our Saturdays and Sundays position. Riding may be possible with riding candidate

HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS AVAILABLE Every day
Few spots available to start in DECEMBER
We teach English riding/Hunter/Jumper from the beginner to the advanced rider, serious competitors. Our riding program is tailored to meet the individual needs of each rider in a relaxed, friendly environment. Adult lessons are available! We have quality horses and A Circuit pony available for part-board, Showing opportunities are available for Pony Jumpers division and a chance of participate at Royal Winter Fair next season! We currently have students showing on both the silver and A circuit. Lessons are available on proven show horse/ ponies with experienced coaches. Children ages 5 and older will practice riding techniques in your choice of group, semi-private, or private lessons.
All year round lessons, Winter in a nice indoor arena spring and summer outdoor arena.
Part-Board ( Lease) on Property for kids who show interest in competing this year season
English Riding * Beginner – Intermediate-Advanced * Jumping

If you are a high school student we would be happy to sign off on volunteer hours as well as look into co-op options for the right individual.

A bittersweet moment shared between students and coach. Abbey, you have been a part of the greenstone family since the beginning. We are all so proud of you and excited to see where this next new chapter takes you.. but you will surely be missed. Best of luck on this next adventure!!

To our students: we have some very big shoes to fill, but we will do our best! We’re hiring a part time stable hand and a part time instructor (20 hrs a week two different positions)

Instructor/coach

We are looking for a beginner to intermediate coach with experience in hunter/jumper. Pay is based on experience.

Schedule:

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 5 - 9 pm for the winter, with some weekends for competitions in the summer

Stable hand:

Monday, Wednesday, Fridays 9am - 3pm with the opportunity for more hours in the spring.

Duties include:

- Morning and afternoon grain for up to 10 horses
- mucking 4 stalls, cleaning and refilling water buckets and hay, turning in and out horses as needed throughout the day
- general maintenance of barn, tack room, feed room, arena
- assisting on days there is massage, chiro, vet or farrier
- preparing poles/jumps/exercises in the arena before lessons if required
- occasionally assisting with lawn maintenance, moving hay
- cleaning water troughs periodically and ensuring the general cleanliness and welfare of all horses and mini ponies
