Our team is so grateful that we are able to provide out of kennel enrichment for our animals. It is incredibly beneficial for both parties - letting our furry friends stretch their legs, and giving our staff extra snuggles and time to wind down when days get busy.
Today’s office buddy is Dotty ❤️ Sweet Dotty is incredibly curious, cuddly and full of personality. She loves to spend time with her people, but not other animals? Not so much 😉
You’ll never feel lonely with Dotty around. She loves to chat and will always be in eye sight.

Meet Blue, a two-year-old Lab mix with stunning eyes and a personality that’ll melt your heart instantly. Blue is a friendly and affectionate boy - although he might take a few minutes to fully come out of his shell when meeting new people. Once he warms up, his loving nature truly shines, making him a delightful companion for anyone lucky enough to share their home with him ❤
Blue enjoys the company of other dogs, so it would be ideal for him to join a household that already has canine companions. However, a cat free household may be best in order for him to thrive. On the bright side he seems to get along well with children as long as they respect his boundaries, making him a great family dog.
In addition to his calm and friendly demeanor, Blue is an excellent listener and generally well-behaved. He can get a bit jumpy when he’s super excited, which is something to keep in mind. He has a playful side and loves toys, but he also cherishes quiet moments spent cuddling and receiving pets. Blue is a loving and loyal dog who will bring joy and companionship to any home that welcomes him.

This beautiful four-year-old came into our care in May and is patiently waiting for her forever family. Ellie is looking for a cat savvy owner who understands she is a boundary queen - while she loves to snuggle, she has her limits and will let you know when she’s done and wants her space. Ellie is full of personality and has become a favourite of our team and volunteers.
She loves to roam our cat room, bird watch, and have the occasional chat with anyone who comes in to visit her. We know there is someone out there for her, she just hasn’t found them yet.

Along with our cats, we are full of dogs waiting for their furever families and homes.
We have the lovebugs, the adults with puppy tendancies, those that want to be the king or queen with no other animals, those that are scared and nervous but given the chance they will show you how sweet they can be.
Although some dogs are in foster- we are at our capacity with dogs in shelter. Our list of dogs waiting to come in is quite lengthy. We are unable to help other dogs waiting to come in until some get out.
We have dogs available for adoption, foster to adopt, and those that would greatly benefit getting out of shelter and into a foster home for the time being.
Remember: with our dog adoptions we offer a 2 week trial period as we know it can be a big adjustment not only for the animal but their new family as well.

We can’t believe Scarlett is still here! 🥺
Scarlett is a sweet three-year-old Rottweiler mix, tipping the scales at approximately 72 pounds. This affectionate girl is brimming with love, but she does require some training and a strong owner to guide her. Scarlett’s boundless energy can make her quite “bull moosey” at times, particularly when she’s raring to go. Once she has expended her energy in a good zoom, she transforms into the ultimate couch potato ready for a long snuggle session with her special person.
Scarlett is best suited for a home with older children as her playful yet clumsy nature could cause a bit of chaos with younger kids. She would also thrive best in an environment where she is the only pet, allowing her to soak up all the attention and affection from her owner.
Scarlett would prefer plenty of space to run and explore, making a home with a large yard ideal. She loves to go on adventures and does wonderful on a leash. Scarlett’s perfect match would be an owner who can provide her with the physical activity and mental stimulation she craves, ensuring she remains happy and healthy.

Milo is a special 4 year old boy looking for his forever home.
Although at first look this sweet boy can look timid and scared of the world, given the chance he will show you what a sweet boy he is. If given the chance he will give you nothing but head boops and in our opinion, he's an excellent biscuit maker ❤
Milo lived with another cat in his previous home. With the proper introduction we think he would live with another cat. We are unsure about dogs.
Milo should be in a home with no children as he spooks easy, older children may be okay.

No Hot Pets
With the warmer weather here, we have been receiving an influx of phone calls regarding pets in vehicles on a hot day. A reminder that animals can die in hot cars. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures can increase drastically within minutes. When in doubt, please leave your pet at home.
If you see a dog in a hot car that is in immediate danger or distress, please call 911.

Sahara is such a lovely gal! She truly gets looked over as she tends to hide in her hidey house, but when she is calmly approached and given chin scratches - she turns into a loving, gentle kitty with plenty of love to give. One-year-old Sahara would do best in a calmer home with a patient adopter who can give her plenty of time to adjust to a new environment. Although we are unsure of how she would do with another feline friend, a cat who matches her gentle demeanour might work. Dogs may overwhelm Sahara, so a home with no pups would be best.
