Donā€™t worry if your peppers and tomatoes look a bit small. 1) The season felt early but weā€™re actually right on schedule and plants probably feel like theyā€™re smaller than they are 2) itā€™s been cool, everything will grow faster and bigger once it warms and the evening donā€™t drop as much 3) celebrate the cool for your lettuce and spinach and cold crops! Theyā€™re loving this.

Piles of tomatoes, peppers (including Scotch Bonnet and King of the North), eggplants, squash, cucumbers, and a few lavender, borage and sunflowers. Yup, even the red sunflowers.

Please comment, share, like and all the things so META stops burying my posts šŸ™‚. And so your friends who totally want something to do can also come by and visit.

Yup! There are Scotch Bonnet Hot Pepper plants available!! Listed with all my plant babies through

ā€œScotch bonnet is a variety of chili pepper named for its supposed resemblance to a Scottish tam oā€™ shanter bonnet. It is ubiquitous in West Africa and the Caribbean. Like the closely related habanero,

Scoville heat units (SHU): 100,000 - 350,000 SHU

Suggestions: Peppers need a warm soil and night temperature to prosper. They will stunt under 10C. Location should be sheltered from the wind and soil should be kept reasonably moist. Be sure to harden off the seedlings to reduce transplant stress. Harvest fruit early and often. The more you pick the more they will produce. Do not pull off fruit, rather cut from stems.ā€

The young Astia zucchini looking fantastic! Gotta love container varieties šŸ™‚ Available through

ā€œAstia is a well-bred French bush zucchini variety, developed especially for container growing and planting in small space gardens. These non rambling, compact squash vines are also highly ornamental with big silvery-green, deeply indented leaves. Early bearing and productive, Astia bears abundant zucchini near the base of the plant where they are easy to harvestā€¦

Micro tomatoes. Need some in your life? I have these and many more unique varieties on

Why grow the same old you can find in the store? Have fun with your garden. SO MANY unique different things to try in myLocalism right now!!

ā€œOrange Hat Tomato - Extra dwarf bush plants reach just 6-9 inches in height but the plants are wildly prolific, offering oodles of tiny orange orbs that burst with fruity sweet flavor. This is the perfect indoor or patio tomato, comfortably fitting in a 6-inch pot. Try these colorful and compact plants as an edible ornamental, mass planted in beds or borders or in mixed containers.

Determinate (non-vining)ā€

Hoping to start loading stock to the website by late Sunday. Plants are a tiny bit smaller this year, not much, but are looking healthy! I also have a smaller stock this year due to ā€œlifeā€ so hereā€™s your chance to browse myLocalism and add things to your favourite lists. Fingers crossed everyone can get what they want once they have their stock added! (When I start adding, it will be item by item, not all at once)

**NOTE** some plant babies like white sage, tomatillos, strawberries will be added later as they come ready.

Wow!! These second year Munstead Lavender plants sure are ready and looking for new larger growing spaces. Overwintered and sprouting out into their fresh greenery, they should expand amazingly once they have the room (disturb/ loosen the roots from their bound-up mass when planting as they have been cramped a while).

Just listed my limited qty for folks to grab!

Slightly longer post:
As for many of us, the last year has been an extreme struggle for myself and family. Between lifeā€™s many many curveballs and family loss Iā€™ve had to pick and choose how much I can give to ā€œall-the-thingsā€ from the little time and energy left each day.

Which means Iā€™m still making Growing North seedlings happen for all of you amazing folks, but they will be a little closer to June, and there will be a little less than in previous years. So I do apologize and I wish I could have made everyoneā€™s favourites happen. I am still working to have all the options visible to add to your favourite lists, and I hope you will all still find new and amazing things to try when the stock is loaded to in a couple weeks for ordering.

I am always blown away by your support, and Iā€™m sad if anyone is disappointed for 2024. Fingers crossed that all goes to plan and I can be back to full throttle for 2025 :)

Thank you for being with me for all these years šŸ’• hereā€™s to fantastic summer gardens and delicious veggies šŸ¤ž
