🎆 Please plan ahead to keep your pets safe during the holiday:

Fireworks can be scary! If your pet gets anxious, talk to us about calming options.

No sharing BBQ food—some human foods can make pets very sick.

Watch the heat! Keep pets cool and off hot pavement.

🗓️ Need food or medication? Please place your order by Thursday, June 27th to ensure it’s ready before the long weekend.

🐾🎉 Hey there, it’s me — Jax the Great Dane! 🎉🐾

Today is National Great Dane Day, so naturally, I had to make an appearance on the Tilbury Veterinary Hospital page to remind you all just how PAW-some us gentle giants really are! 💙

Sure, we’re a little extra — extra tall, extra drooly, and extra in-your-face with love — but that’s what makes us GREAT!

Some of my best qualities: ✔️ Thinks I'm a lap dog
✔️ Excellent at leaning on humans
✔️ Expert napper (especially on couches I’m technically not allowed on)
✔️ Gives the best slobbery kisses 😘

Pictured below is a very special pup—one you don’t see every day just strolling down the street. When a dog this unique (and this cute!) comes into the clinic, a mini photoshoot is a must.

Can you guess the breed? Here are a few hints:

🐾 Aside from some coarse hair on the head, feet, or tail, this breed is completely hairless
🇲🇽 They originated in Mexico
📏 They come in three sizes: toy, miniature, and standard
🤷🏼‍♀️ Their official name is a bit of a tongue-twister (don’t worry, we struggle too), but their nickname is much easier to remember!

Quick PSA: If you're planning to bring in a litter of puppies or kittens, we recommend using color-coded collars like the ones shown in the photos below. This simple step helps us easily tell them apart and ensures each little one gets the right care and an accurately labeled medical file.
