Company Description
Autism Dog Services (ADS) is a leading provider of service dogs for individuals with autism and related disorders in Southwestern Ontario. ADS is accredited by Assistance Dogs International and a member of the Canadian Association of Guide and Assistance Dog Schools. The organization is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the clients and their families through its strong values.

Role Description
This is a full-time (33 hours/week) virtual role for an Advanced Dog Trainer and Puppy Program Assistant at Autism Dog Services Inc. The role will involve housing, training and caring for service dogs in training, providing excellent customer service, understanding animal behaviour, and assisting with training programs in a small group or 1:1 basis· It will also involve home support training and an emergency on call rotation schedule. Provide support and follow up instruction to clients/families during trial placements and after placement. Assist as directed with advanced training, puppy program, volunteer recruitment, client services, fund development and community outreach.

The head office is located in Brantford, ON. We require work-from-home flexibility and out in the communities we provide service to. (Southwestern ON and parts of Southern ON)

Qualifications
• Service Dog Training and Animal Behaviour skills is an asset
• Experience in Pet Care and Obedience Training
• Exceptional Customer Service skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Virtual work experience with home office set up.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for working with animals and helping clients with autism and other developmental disorders
• Certification in service dog training or related field is a plus
• Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial
• Strong Computer Knowledge and organization
• Well-developed leadership skills
• Experience handling and training puppies
• Experience working with volunteers.

The summer has been very busy with trying to juggle a FT job and art pieces.

I was very happy with completing two double subject portraits. Looking forward to starting a number of equine and wildlife pieces for the fall and winter.

Yep....after almost a year of planning...we are one month away from our 2nd Annual Howl-o-Ween Pawty! Last year we were thrilled with the success of our first event and we cannot wait for our 2nd annual. We have been hard at work and we could not do this alone. Many thanks to the The Children's Safety Village of Brant for their support, our title sponsors Global Pet Foods and Oven-Baked Tradition, Jared Houliton of Ontario Wildlife Removal Inc., Windrush Veterinary Services and City of Brantford Foundation. As well as our supporters, volunteers, families, staff, our vendors, entertainment by Joan Minnery, Giant Camera, the Optimist Club of Ancaster and Altitude Coffee Roasters of Brantford. We will be having our People and Pet Parade, Giant Camera Photo Booth, Brant Fire Dept., mascots, prizes for best dressed, best dressed couple and best dressed family. Start thinking of your costume. We cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Striving for the best portrait possible!

Sometimes artists incur obstacles when striving to create the best possible portrait for clients. Poor quality surfaces from the manufacturer, low resolution, blurry or badly lit photos to work from and other hiccups along the way. The client doesn’t see this but an artist may have to start a portrait a number of times before they are satisfied with the quality and integrity of the piece as in Zeke’s case.
