Bear Flats Labradors are family-raised, CKC registered fox-red/yellow labs. Bear Flats Labradors is located 30 min East of Edmonton, AB, Canada.

We live on 3 acres, with 4 kids, 10 dogs, 5 cats, two dozen chickens, 2 horses, and a whole lot of activity! Bear Flats Labrador puppies are registered and sold under a CKC Non-Breeding Agreement and come with a 2 year health guarantee. However, failure to provide proof of spay/neuter to Bear Flats Labradors by 1 year for females and 2 years for male, will result in forfeiture of health guarantee.

Health Guarantee:
Our puppies are guaranteed until 24 months of age from debilitating genetic disorders. If it is determined that there is a debilitating genetic disorder, verified by a certified veterinarian, we will replace the puppy providing the buyer:
1. Notifies Bear Flats Labradors immediately of the condition
2. provides x-rays where required (taken of the puppy prior to 24 months) for problem to be confirmed
3. Puts the puppy down or is spayed/neutered at owners expense
4. Buyer's veterinarian must indicate that there have been no signs of abuse or neglect.
5. Provides large breed puppy food until 1 year of age or the above guarantee is void.
6. Veterinary records must be provided to the Breeder if buyer is requesting a replacement pup. Our puppies are guaranteed for life against having EIC. Further health testing will be done on our adult dogs once they reach 2 years of age. All of our breeding dogs come from OFA certified parents. Puppies will have first vaccinations, will have been dewormed, microchipped, and will be well-socialized with children and other dogs. Reservations:
Puppies can be reserved with a $200, non-refundable deposit. The order in which deposits are received will determine the order of pick of the litter. Pricing/Payment:
Puppies are currently priced at $1800. Payment can be made by cash or email money transfer. Balance is due upon pickup. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!!

Some great tips from Canine Health Canada as we get into summer!

Blue-Green Algae is very dangerous for dogs, as well as people and other animals❗

What is is though?

Warm weather promotes the growth of cyanobacteria in bodies of fresh water which is toxic when ingested.

The Algae can stick to the dogs fur and then when they clean themselves it gets into their system, so even if you think your dog will not drink the water do not let them swim in it either!

Here are some signs of toxicity from blue-green algae to watch for:
❗ Panting
❗ Excessive Drooling
❗ Diarrhea
❗ Disorientation
❗ Respiratory Failure
❗ Seizures
❗ Liver Failure
❗ Vomiting
❗ Collapse/Unconsciousness
❗ Weakness / Lethargic
❗ Death

If your dog is showing any symptoms of toxicity contact a vet immediately! Monitor vital signs and provide emergency first aid assistance.

These boys have received two vaccines, are learning basic manners and commands, love to fetch, and are ready for a lap to cuddle in! We teach prevention - like knowing which household plants are toxic to your dog and what people medicines they can NEVER have. We cover basic nutrition, exercise and dental care needs, we teach you about digestive emergencies and how to deal with them,

This is a great test! Labs can get chunky, give them a longer healthier life by keeping their weight in check! 🥰

A few years ago studies were reporting around 50% of pet dogs were overweight in North America, but now that number has risen to 59% of pet dogs being overweight!

Did you know that 37% are overweight by the time they reach 6 months old?!?

Neutered pets have a 200% higher risk of obesity and overweight dogs have a shortened lifespan of 2.5 years compared to those of ideal weight.
