🐾 Winter Paw Care Tips 🐾

As the winter unfolds, it’s crucial to remember that our pups’ paws face several cold weather hazards:

1️⃣ The salt and de-icing chemicals used to melt snow on roads and sidewalks can be toxic to our four-legged pals. Always check and clean between your dog’s paw pads for these harmful substances.

2️⃣ Paw Trimming: Long hair between the pads can form ice balls, trap dust, and other elements, making walks uncomfortable or even painful. Some simple home-made trimming can save everyone a headache.

3️⃣ Moisturize: Just like our skin, dog paw pads can crack and dry out in the cold. Use a dog-safe paw balm or moisturizer to keep their pads soft and prevent cracks.

4️⃣ Booties for the Win: For dogs that don’t mind a little fashion, boots can be a real game-changer. They protect against the cold ground, salt, and chemicals, ensuring your pup’s paws stay warm and toxin-free.

🔹 Go Low on Calories, High on Love: With less activity, our seniors need fewer calories to avoid obesity and its complications.

🦃🐟🪰 Muscle maintenance is a must, so high-quality, easily digestible protein is the order of the day.

🐟 Salmon and micro-algae oil isn’t just trendy; Omega-3 it’s a joint-saving, brain-boosting must for our aging pals.

🔹 Keep their digestive system running smoothly with the right amount of fiber (8-9% for dry food)

🫀Keep an eye on phosphorus and sodium levels for dogs with heart and kidney issues. Consult your vet in these cases 🩺

🐕‍🦺 The average dog needs at least 30 minutes to 2 hours of exercise daily, depending on breed and age. If you notice your fur baby is:

🐾 Restless or anxious 🐾 Gaining excess weight 🐾 Chewing things they shouldn’t 🐾 Showing signs of boredom or frustration
