Meet Kokos

His story is sadly all too common. He simply got in someone’s way — and they decided to get rid of him, in the cruelest way possible.

For three long days (maybe more), he just lay there, unable to move. He couldn’t defend himself when other animals attacked him. Under the hot sun, his wounds began to rot and fill with maggots. He didn’t even cry... he simply couldn’t.

Veterinarians spent a long time trying to figure out what was wrong. Eventually, they discovered he had been poisoned with arsenic.

Arsenic causes severe weakness, intense pain, and often death within hours. Kokos was incredibly lucky — he was rescued just in time.

Now he’s safe in paid foster care.
He’s neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and ready to find his forever family! 💛

Kokos is around 1.5–2 years old — a big-hearted, gentle boy. Despite his size, he gets along perfectly with other animals and children.
He doesn’t bark without reason and seems to understand everything without words.

If you’re looking for a loyal, kind-hearted friend — Kokos might just be the perfect one. 😍

A Child from a Catalog or Surrogacy: The Ethics of Choice

Thousands of years ago, humanity discovered a simple truth: what you don’t have, you can trade for. If you had an abundance of potatoes, you could exchange them for coffee, for example. In this way, basic needs and desires were met.

But as society evolved, so did the nature of our desires. And often, the higher the social status, the more extravagant—or even troubling—those desires became. From rare delicacies to, in darker moments of history, the ownership of other human beings. But let’s focus on something more relatable—modern-day consumerism and status.

In a world full of stereotypes and social pressures, many people forget that each of us is inherently unique. Yet, we often feel the need to stand out or to follow trends—whether it’s through fashion, lifestyle, or even the kind of pet we choose.

It’s become common for people to spend thousands of dollars on “designer” pets—purebred cats and dogs chosen from websites as if from a catalog. These animals don’t plow fields or herd livestock. They sit on couches, wear bows, and serve as living accessories. Or worse, they’re bred to be intimidating guard dogs, but when they don’t meet breed standards—perhaps a tail is slightly off—they’re deemed unsellable and abandoned.

The breeding industry often treats animals like machines—expected to reproduce on schedule to turn a profit. Once they’re no longer "useful," many are discarded without a second thought.

That’s when volunteers step in. These unsung heroes rescue and rehabilitate animals, doing their best to find them loving, permanent homes. But not all of these stories have happy endings.

The more we treat living beings as products, the more suffering we create. So before you support a breeder or search for the “perfect” pet, ask yourself—are you feeding your ego or making a compassionate choice?

Adopt. Don’t shop. Give a home to an animal who truly needs it.

What Makes a Dog Different from a Human?

Loyalty. No matter how poorly a human treats an animal, a dog will still love them—unconditionally.

When you rescue a dog from the streets, you can't explain to them why they were abandoned or left behind. But you can help them, offering the care and love they so desperately need.

You feed them, provide medical attention, groom them, and begin searching for the right family. But sometimes, a dog chooses their own family. That’s exactly what happened with Tosha.

After arriving, he stayed with Natalia, one of the volunteers in our rescue organization. Many families came to meet him, but he never truly connected with anyone.

Time passed, and we finally thought we had found the perfect home—a spacious backyard, a kind elderly couple. Tosha was brought to their home in the morning. But by the next morning, he was gone!

Our entire team immediately launched a search. We set up a small camp, hoping he would return for food. We caught glimpses of his tail in the bushes, but his trust had been broken, and he was too afraid to come near a group of people.

Then, something incredible happened. As soon as everyone stepped away and left Natalia alone, Tosha ran straight to her, leaping into her arms with joy.

And just like that, he found his forever home—becoming the fifth beloved dog in her care. ❤️
