FOR ADOPTION: Sweet, beautiful, shy, angelic, 5 year old Golden Retriever girl is looking for her forever home.

Aster was pulled from another puppy mill situation where she was used to breed until she was no longer useful. She arrived to her foster family paralyzed with fear. She was likely raised outdoors since that’s her favourite place to be. Walking on a floor or a carpet was so foreign to her that she simply froze. Going on a walk was a reason to drop to the ground for fear of moving forward.

She has improved greatly and now enjoys her walks and is very comfortable in the house. She is best suited in a home with no kids, simply because she startles easily. She is as gentle as they come in true golden fashion. Speaking of fashion, she is such a beauty she could grace the cover of a high fashion magazine for dogs!

Aster needs a fully fenced yard and some space to roam. She does gravitate to other dogs and would do best with another friendly, laid back dog with a personality similar to hers. She will also be thankful if a family member is home much of the time.

We have also learned that she is very happy wading in the water when the weather permits.

She has been spayed, is up to date on her shots and is on a special hydrolyzed protein diet as she does have a sensitive stomach. This can be purchased through any veterinary clinic.

Mia is available for adoption! She is currently living at the PetSmart located in Oakville Place.

4-month old Mia is a petite kitten with unique markings. She is playful and energetic, but also loves to cuddle. Mia is cautious of new things but is very friendly with everyone she meets. She gets along well with the other cats and dogs in her foster home.

Sweet boy, Rocky, is looking to love his forever family❤️❤️❤️

[ NO ADOPTION FOR ROCKY TODAY ]

It was a 6 hour round trip and I’d travel anywhere needed to find this boy the best home, but today wasn’t it.

Rocky however, was a SUPERSTAR!!

HE ABSOLUTELY KICKED ASS at this meet and greet and I am so proud of him. He did amazing on the drive. He was great with the 3 resident dogs. Excellent with the 3 adults in the home. Recall on the property 💯 %

HOWEVER, one of the resident dogs was a total jerk to Rocky and just wouldn’t let up on him. No matter how tolerant Rocky was with her as he maneuvered her rude and pushy advances on him, she just wasn’t being welcoming. He tried avoidance. He tried playbows. He tried to let her push him around until he didn’t.

Resetting the introductions just brought the one resident dog in even hotter.

Could they have worked out their relationship? Maybe.

But with his potential adopter being 3 hours away and the last dog into the home being the 1st dog out (and usually blamed for bad behaviour over a resident dog) I just wasn’t comfortable with this family for Rocky, so him and I headed back to Toronto.

Rocky is the best dog. He’s been with Mattie's Place 1 year next month. He had such a difficult life before arriving to Mattie's Place but he’s proven over and over he’s adoption worthy.

I’m so sad, that so few want to give him a chance at having a family to call his own.

Appreciation to Amber Remedios for allowing him to stay this long and trusting my adoption decisions to ensure he’ll land safe into a forever home, one day.
