Good day everyone as you know there are heat waves all over the Ontario and Quebec right now. I think that we should hold from shipping animals this week to these two provinces.
I would like to suggest that everyone get some Cryo packs or cold packs and keep them on hand as it will be a hot summer.
I would also like to suggest having animals held for pick up at hubs as much as you can for the safety of the animals.

Sulcata Tortoises (Centrochelys sulcata) in stock! While they are cute and small now, these impressive tortoises grow into the largest mainland species in Africa. They require special care and plenty of space.
Adults average 18-24โ in shell length and 70 to 100 pounds in weight, but specimens reaching 2 to 3 feet in length and upwards of 150 pounds aren't uncommon. They need large enclosures and can be quite destructive, so they're best suited for experienced keepers.
In Canada, if possible, provide spacious outdoor enclosures during warm months and large indoor spaces with proper heating in colder months. They are strong diggers, so secure housing is essential. Due to weather constraints, we cannot keep tortoises outside year-round like many keepers in the USA and other warm-climate countries. If outdoor enclosures are not feasible, a permanent year-round enclosure for a full-size animal would need to be very large, often requiring something custom-made or a dedicated room. Large heated sheds that have been retrofitted are also commonly used.
We often stock other tortoise species such as Red-footed, Hermann's, Greek, and Russian tortoises. While they still require a good amount of space, they are much more manageable for the average keeper and make great beginner tortoises. These species can be viewed in-store or at Tailsandscales.ca.

Previous experience with reptiles is required, along with comprehensive knowledge of different reptile species and their unique needs. Retail experience and familiarity with computer systems are advantageous. A positive attitude, honesty, reliability, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic are paramount. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential to provide exceptional customer service. In this fast-paced environment, excellent time-management skills and the ability to multitask effectively are crucial. You must be adept at working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, ensuring the smooth operation of our Reptile Department.

We're thrilled to share that we'll be participating in the Aquariama event organized by the Durham Region Aquarium Society! This will be our first time attending this event and hope to do more aquatic events in the future!
We will be bringing a great selection of fish & plants as well as some other odds and ends. We will also have lots of great deals on everything we bring!
If there's any particular fish, plants, or products from our store that you'd like us to bring there will be no delivery charge. Simply place your order and choose the pickup option. In the notes section, just mention "Aquariama" or any indication that it's intended for the event. Please note we cannot bring any large items!

We have made it possible to now pre-order all the Cornel's World Terrariums on our website and we have made a quick video showing how it's done and where the products can be found. We received a small shipment last week and while we didn't have time to do an unboxing video we did manage to do a quick walk around the fish room showing off some of the new stock in the tanks. The Bucktooth Tetra is a highly aggressive fish from the Amazon basin. Due to their aggressive nature, bucktooth tetras do best in a single-species tank. While theyโre not the largest fish around, a group of bucktooth tetras can easily take down and kill a bigger fish. Any other fish in the tank will quickly become food. Pea puffer, donโt be fooled by their size, these little ones have attitude plus! You can keep a single pea puffer in a 5 gallon tank. Although bigger is always better.
