๐ An update on Indira ๐
Sweet Indira captured so many hearts when we shared her story last month. This lovely girl is pregnant while also managing a femur fracture, which will result in an amputation after her kittens have weaned.
Despite her challenges, Indira is settling in well to her foster home and has been opening up more each day. When she first arrived in foster care, Indira was very scared of being touched, but now will purr and walk back and forth to receive pets. She loves to look out the window to watch birds and squirrels, and hasnโt let her injured leg stop her from exploring. Indira's foster family is patiently awaiting the birth of her kittens, who are anticipated to arrive this month!
We're so inspired by Indira's resilience, and so grateful to our supporters who have helped ensure that she receives the care she deserves. If you'd like to help TCR provide for cats like Indira who require extensive - and expensive - attention, please consider becoming a Monthly Donor. Monthly donations are the lifeblood of Toronto Cat Rescue, helping us act fast in urgent medical situations. Thank you for being a hero to cats in need. ๐

Happy New Year from the Toronto Cat Rescue team! โจ
Meet Moxie. She came to TCR in a bad state: 10 years old, very overweight, and experiencing a plethora of medical complications. A combination of severe arthritis, hip dysplasia and her weight made it so that Moxie could barely walk. She was experiencing intense pain, even with medication. As a result, she was not using her litter box and required regular enemas to relieve uncomfortable constipation. To further complicate things, Moxie had been declawed prior to entering the rescue system.
A shelter partner who was supporting Moxie had exhausted their resources. A medical miracle was needed. That's when TCR stepped in and changed Moxie's story. She soon underwent extensive (and expensive) bi-lateral surgery. But that was only the beginning. It took several months of love, patience and a lot of physiotherapy to get Moxie back to full health. Thanks to her dedicated foster mom - who decided to adopt Moxie! - this sweet cat has a new lease on life. Now at a healthy weight, Moxie's mobility has greatly improved and her pain is gone!
Time and again, TCR is the last hope for seniors and other high-needs cats such as Moxie. Adoption fees alone do not cover the costs of each cat in our care. It is only through your generous donations that we can sustain the work we do. As the end of the year approaches, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who depend on us. By making a tax-deductible donation before December 31, you can not only help us continue our vital work, but also receive a tax receipt for your crucial contribution. โก๏ธ To donate, visit https://ow.ly/Zx4G50QlK78.
