FLIGHTS – Finding Loving International Greyhounds Homes Together & Salukis was established in 2015 as a volunteer based, not-for-profit organization located in Ontario, Canada. As an organization, we endeavor to support are partner groups at all levels. We provide post-adoptive support for Internationally retired greyhounds, Middle Eastern salukis and saluki mixes that FLIGHTS brings into Canada.
We promote responsible adoption through education, speaking engagements, sighthound community work. Our mission has evolved, with adding Salukis and Australian greyhounds, we are now FLIGHTS – Finding Loving International Greyhounds Homes Together & Salukis.

We are proud to have Racing 2 Rehome as our exclusive Aussie partner.
Some of you will be aware of media reports alleging information about staff sackings, unethical behaviour and sub-standard care of greyhounds in the NSW Greyhounds as Pets (GAP) facility run by Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW), and these reports mentioned NSW greyhounds being flown to the USA by GRNSW.
Racing2Rehome wishes to clarify that the Victorian Flight Program to North America is managed completely differently to the NSW program.
Racing2Rehome is a rehoming charity that endeavours to find loving pet homes for greyhounds. We are solely focused on the welfare of greyhounds, and there are no target numbers, KPI’s or bonuses for the work we do.
When our vetted North American Rehoming Groups wish to import Aussie greyhounds, a flight is booked for the number of dogs and the date that works best for these volunteer groups – most of which have been rehoming USA greyhounds for 20 to 30 years! Mostly, these volunteers drive to collect our greyhounds from the pet transport company at the airport and the dogs are snoozing in a foster home the same day.
Racing2Rehome ensures that all greyhounds for the flight program are young, confident and healthy. Dogs must be six years or younger, have no ongoing medical issues or past injuries such as broken hocks, be behaviourally tested to be resilient – no anxious or timid dogs are flown. And of course, they are vet checked a minimum of 3 times prior to flying. If any issues or concerns arise, then the dogs are immediately pulled from the flight program, right up to the day they fly. These dogs are then moved into our local Victorian adoption program. The individual greyhound’s welfare is our priority.
There are simply not enough Adoptive homes in Victoria for all the greyhounds that need a couch to snooze on. This is part of the current Rehoming Crisis with all dogs – the Shelters are full!
Racing2Rehome do this work from our hearts - we just want ALL greyhounds to have the chance of a loving pet life!
Pic: Bandit (black) with his friend Karol earlier this month.
Bandit flew to the USA in December 2022. R2R’s Vice President has been hosted by Bandit’s parents in Phoenix and even taken this lively boy out walking. You couldn’t get a more loving family for Bandit and without the R2R Victorian Flight Program, he could still be languishing in kennels – instead of living a fabulous life and barking with a USA accent.

With only 1 Australian Greyhound available for adoption of the recent arrivals. We are already in the planning stages to bring in another group of retired racers!
If you are interested, don't wait, our Greyhounds move fast... pun intended! 😆 🤣 😂
Happy 3rd birthday to this Aussie goofball who quickly took over every piece of furniture in the house when he arrived 💙
We are so excited to share what Alex, Will, Fergus & Fiadh did and are supporting FLIGHTS.

We built it as sustainably as possible, including repurposing a crate and hardware kindly provided by Flights - Finding Loving International Greyhounds Homes Together & Salukis.
So excited to be able to share items we've been collecting with the community, all while supporting FLIGHTS!

March 28th he received a clean bill of health, he has fully recovered! Rescue story ~ Laszlo was found because he walked up to a pack of literally 20 dogs! He was so calm and friendly to all of them. He really is amazing with people and dogs. Because of his background as a racing dog, he has a decent pry drive. General temperament ~ Laszlo is such a happy boy, his tail never stops wagging, gets along with all dogs. Laszlo likes to talk to you too, when meal time is not fast enough, he will certainly tell you to speed it along! When you come home, he will tell you all about how his day went before he asks you how yours was! LOL He will require a home with a decent size yard. Laszlo LOVES spending time outside, so much so that the family may consider installing a doggie door. Laszlo will also do better in a home with at least 1 other playful dog, they must be playful and tolerant. Laszlo loves to snuggle with people and pups, so your pups must like those things too. Laszlo also prefers to sleep with his people. He snuggles right in with you and is down for the count all night..... be prepared the little fart snores too! He loves to play, chase, dig and horse around, and gets into everything a puppy does too! Puzzle toys are a big hit!
