Flights - Finding Loving International Greyhounds Homes Together & Salukis FLIGHTS facilitate the adoption of retired International Greyhounds and Salukis in Canada

FLIGHTS – Finding Loving International Greyhounds Homes Together & Salukis was established in 2015 as a volunteer based, not-for-profit organization located in Ontario, Canada. As an organization, we endeavor to support are partner groups at all levels. We provide post-adoptive support for Internationally retired greyhounds, Middle Eastern salukis and saluki mixes that FLIGHTS brings into Canada.

We promote responsible adoption through education, speaking engagements, sighthound community work. Our mission has evolved, with adding Salukis and Australian greyhounds, we are now FLIGHTS – Finding Loving International Greyhounds Homes Together & Salukis.

We would like to extend our gratitude to two families for their incredibly generous donations.

Thank you to Stacie, Jahfer and Nora, who donated a large basket of lovely dog toys! Can't wait to see which lucky foster gets to have some "pizza mutt"!

Thank you to Andrew and family, who donated a collection of martingale collars, sweaters, leashes and other miscellaneous items. We are even better equipped to welcome new hounds!

And thank you ALL for providing us with support in whatever way you can! Even a share and a like helps us put more hounds in homes.

Lets Meet Meeka! Available for Adoption Meeka is fully vetted, fully vaccinated and ready for her forever home! Breed ~ Greyhound Age ~ 3 Years Weight ~ 70Lbs, Meeka is a larger girl, and will do well with an active household and would prefer a yard to run around in. Good with people ~ Yes Good with kids ~ Over 12 years of age Good with dogs ~ Yes, larger dogs, she is being fostered with a female Galgo Good with cats ~ No Leash skills ~ Continually improving and doing exceptionally well. Stairs ~ Meeka does well on all stairs outside, in and out of the house but for some reason she does not like the carpeted stairs going into the basement of her foster home. Energy level ~ Active Spayed/Neutered ~ Yes Microchipped ~ Yes Color ~ Black Sex ~ Female ~ Behavioral Assessment from Australia ~ Meeka is a warm hearted, playful, and sociable greyhound who enjoys the company of her humans. She does have a prey drive, so we need to be mindful around other non sighthounds. Meeka showed remarkable resilience and is unfazed. At times she can be a bit cheeky and playful. General temperament ~ She is super sweet and affectionate, always wagging her tail if you even look at her. She's absolutely perfect in the house. She doesn't bark, doesn't counter-surf, doesn't chew or get up onto furniture. Even though she loves her food and eats like she's never eaten before, she waits politely for her meal to be served and doesn't try to grab it; nor does she go after Frida's meal. Meeka is potty trained, calm and respectful of her foster sister Frida, who is a smaller Galgo. Meeka has had alone training in the house and has not exhibited any SA, while the humans leave the house. Meeka, is not a lazy greyhound, she enjoys her quiet time but always up for a good walk or romp in the yard, Meeka enjoys meeting people and likes to greet everyone on her walks with a good tail wag. She has also learned commands, Heel, Don't Pull, Leave It, Out of the Kitchen. In

Thank you to all our supporters who have donated gently used coats, sweaters, leashes and collars. Early last week we shipped off 2 boxes to Ireland to help support the foster homes and the adoption centre we receive Irish Greyhounds from.
