Meet Penny/ Female/ French Bulldog/ 3.5 years old/ Spayed

Penny is a slow burn of love. Penny can be a snuggly sweetheart who adores affection and belly rubs once she’s fully at ease. She will be apprehensive at first and needs to build trust with her handlers. With patience, you’ll discover her playful spirit!

Prepare for endless entertainment with her joyful flips and quirky antics, plus her adorable baby dragon she snuggles with at night! 🐉

Penny adores walks, hiking, and swimming. Penny is an excellent walker both on and off-leash, with solidly developing recall and a penchant for stopping to sniff around.

Penny is fantastic with dogs when out but can be protective at home so will need a single-dog household and is best without cats or kids. Penny does express herself with friendly grumbles and an alarm bark for door knocks, but she’s not overly vocal.

With guidance from Shaun at Dog Hero, who is fostering Penny, you’ll set Penny up for success and continue her development. A home familiar with French Bulldog needs and pet insurance is essential for her well-being. ❤️🏡

Breeze is affectionate, adaptable, and friendly. His gentle demeanour means he’s great with children, and he thrives in the company of people and other dogs. His calm demeanour makes him a pleasant companion at home.

Breeze loves his daily walks—exploring the neighbourhood and sniffing new sights and smells. He’s also a champion snuggler who enjoys cozying up on the couch for quality downtime. Whether it’s playtime or nap time, Breeze is content as long as he’s by your side.

Breeze is up-to-date on his core vaccines (dh2pp, Rabies), neutered, and microchipped. He is fully housebroken and crate-trained, making him an easygoing housemate. Breeze knows all basic commands and responds well, so he’s ready to follow your lead!

Meet handsome McFly, named after Marty McFly from “Back to the Future.” McFly is looking for his future forever home!

McFly is your typical bully mix, full of beans and super sweet with his people. McFly loves to be outdoors and would be best with an active family. He would be a great hiking buddy! He loves car rides and makes a great companion when out and about.

McFly is one smart cookie! He already knows a few commands and takes his treats gently. He is crate-trained. He is still learning leash manners, as he can pull, but would likely respond well to consistent positive reinforcement training. He sometimes barks when playing.

Initially, McFly was fearful but has improved with time and become less so. He showed some reactivity toward other dogs when they barked and lunged at him! He has done better around more neutral dogs. He can be a bit wary of strangers and new people. He would benefit from a home that would help build his confidence.

Cha Cha | Rabbit - Lionhead | Adult | Female - Spayed

Meet Cha Cha! This gorgeous bunny is sure to dance her way into your heart with her beautiful mane, larger than life personality and silly antics.

Cha Cha is a curious and social bun. She is very energetic and ready to explore. Cha Cha is a little adventurer and always on the go, so she must have the space to use up her energy. Cha Cha is a smart and inquisitive bunny. She is a busy little bee but does eventually tire. When she is tired, Cha Cha will flop down and enjoy some cuddles. She is good about being pet and cuddled but is not the biggest fan of being held and will let you know.

Cha Cha has a big personality and is very outgoing. She is a social gal and will approach anyone. She is not a timid rabbit and is instead a very brave bunny. She doesn’t hide and isn’t spooked when checking out new spaces. Cha Cha can be a sassy gal as she prefers things to be on her terms. But with those luscious locks, how can she help but not be a little bit of a diva?

Her favourite things are a comfy bed and a cardboard box that she loves to play with, hide in and nibble on. She also loves to lay on top of the air conditioning vent all day, enjoying air blowing in her face. Cha Cha is also an interior designer. She loves to redecorate her pen and chew on things. However, she’s been good about not chewing when out and about. She hasn’t tried chewing on baseboards, carpets or wires in her foster home. Cha Cha is also learning to use a litter box, though she still has some occasional accidents.

Cha Cha would do best in an adult-only experienced rabbit home. She would thrive in a household without other pets as well as a home that will keep her as a free roam bunny so she can explore and exercise to her heart’s content!

Cha Cha is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated against RHD. Her adoption fee is $40.

With her moderate activity level, Helania is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly, making her a great fit for any family or individual.

Fully vaccinated and microchipped, Helania is a picture of health. She’s housebroken, good with dogs and children, and even has a soft spot for squirrels (she’s a lover, not a chaser!). This sweet girl is eager to learn and responds well to commands.

We mourn the passing of Cindy Cherry, a remarkable soul who dedicated her life to the welfare of animals. 💔 As the driving force behind the Don Cherry Pet Foundation, she touched the lives of countless animals and humans alike. Cindy’s passion for animal advocacy knew no bounds, and her impact on the animal rescue and care world was immeasurable.

Cindy’s generous spirit extended beyond words, as evidenced by her kind donation to our sanctuary. Through her support, she enabled the rescue and care of two beautiful goats, whom we proudly named Cindy and Don Carlos in her honour.

As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate her profound impact on the world around her. Cindy’s legacy will live on through the animals whose lives she touched and the people she inspired.

We’ve got BIG news! We are overjoyed to share that Dottie and her daughter Daisy are now adopted!!! Just in time for Mother’s Day 💕 Many of you followed, liked, and shared our attempts to find them a fur-ever-loving home, and it’s happened!

When their human dad passed away unexpectedly, the family faced the daunting task of finding a new home for this precious duo. Despite their best efforts, they could not secure a suitable place for Dottie and Daisy. That’s when they reached out to us, and together, we set out to find them a loving foster home, and a fantastic family stepped up. The parents of the deceased man generously covered the vet costs in foster care with help from us, and the generosity of the fosters as well, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to these beloved pets.

As the cost of pet care soared, finding an adopter willing to take on Dottie’s medical needs seemed impossible. We thought that Dottie and Daisy would need to be separated to be adopted, a heartbreaking prospect for all. However, the incredible foster parents, touched by the deep bond between Dottie and Daisy, chose to adopt the duo, ensuring they could stay together forever!

A heartfelt “Dog bless” to everyone who helped in their journey. Especially to their foster family, now their forever family!!! THANK YOU💕 🐾

Meet Francis! Mini poodle | 10 years | male | 2.3 kg

He is a social little pup and loves to be with his people. He is a fantastic work buddy and currently goes to work every day with his foster and does very well sitting on their lap during daily TTC rides. Francis has no problem with the busy streets of Toronto. Francis enjoys going for multiple short-medium walks throughout the day.

Francis adores his people. He always looks for a way to be involved with his family and follows his foster parents everywhere. If you remove your hand while petting him, he will try to nudge it back onto his head. Francis would likely do best as the only pet in his forever home (even though he is good with other animals) and a home without young children.

His foster parents describe him as generally well-behaved. However, Francis would likely benefit from learning some basic obedience cues as he doesn’t know any. He is mostly housebroken and doesn’t p**p in the house.

Francis is very interested in other dogs and generally behaves himself around them. Since he was only recently neutered, he was known to try and hump other dogs. As Francis was an intact male for most of his life, he displays some marking behaviour. Since he has only been neutered for a couple of months, this behaviour may change with time.

Francis has shown separation anxiety in his foster home, and we highly recommend that Francis’ adopters work with a positive reinforcement-based trainer to help work on setting him into his new home. His fosters can leave him for short periods, but he would not do well being left alone for a workday or extended periods as part of his routine. We are looking for a home with someone who works from home or can take him to work with them regularly. As he can be vocal when separated from his people, those who live in condos, apartments or other dwellings where noise may be an issue should not apply.
