Introducing Daisy, the Labrador puppy who came in for her first exam with Dr de Melo and immediately became the CEO of cuteness around here. She’s already taking over hearts (and probably snacks if we’re not careful). Welcome to the Westway pack, Daisy - you’re the boss now!

🚨 Coyote Safety Alert for Dog & Cat Owners 🚨

Did you know coyotes are more active during certain times of the year, especially at dawn and dusk? We are hearing more and more reports from clients of interactions with coyotes in the Etobicoke area, including injuries to pets. Here are some things you can do to protect yourself and your pets:

🐕 When Walking Dogs:

• Keep dogs leashed, especially in areas where coyotes may be present.
• Avoid wooded areas and parks during dawn and dusk when coyotes are most active.
• If you see a coyote, pick up small pets, stand tall, and make loud noises to scare it away. Consider carrying a whistle, a small air horn, or an umbrella to open quickly.

🐈 For Cat Owners:

• Keep cats indoors as much as possible.
• Ensure outdoor areas are secure (use enclosed outdoor spaces if needed).
• Remove food sources like pet food, birdseed, or fallen fruit that can attract coyotes to your yard.

General Tips for All Pet Owners:

• Secure garbage bins and clean up any outdoor food sources.
• Supervise pets in your yard, especially at night.
• Consider motion-sensitive lights to deter wildlife from entering your property.

Keeping your pets safe is our top priority! Let’s work together to stay aware and protect our furry friends. 🐾
