I want to share with you my secret to staying emotionally balanced.
I walk every day. I do at least 10Km a day. I listen to Podcasts, so basically I get about 10 hours of listening in a week. I get fresh air. And I get to clear my mind.

I have been doing daily exercises for close to 15 years. I used to do the gym. I Rollerblade, and then I did marathons. For those not familiar with marathons, it requires almost daily training.

I track what I do with strava, so if u r on strava let's be buddies!

Strava connects millions of runners, cyclists, hikers, walkers and other active people through the sports they love – all on our mobile app and website.

What a terrific story.

Two countries had no relationship are now working together to provide .

The is a country that imports 95% of its food.

By growing it they improve the quality and the freshness.
In 2020 there was $1.01B invested in indoor Vertical Farming, I am wondering if we will double it this year.

in every form can be a driver of an exciting .
Economic developers focus on high tech,
but food employees more and the barriers to entry are so much lower.

A quick rundown of what is possible at each stage:
Farming - Seeds, Tractors & Harvesting Equipment, Drones, Nutrients
Transportation - Refrigeration, Electric Vehicles
Products - Ready-To-Eat, Frozen, Raw, Packaged Goods
Retailers - Grocery stores, Online, Corner Stores, Convenience Stores, Gas Satiations
Food Service - Restaurants, Cafeterias, Food Delivery. Quick Service

The food is massive. And the best thing about it, every day you need the product again.
How many Tesla's or IPhones do you buy a week?

The global population is heading to nine billion by 2050 which will puts immense stress on global food production.
Climate change threatens food security, adding a larger obstacle to our ability to feed the population and do it sustainably.
However, there is a solution to grow food sustainably; Indoor Vertical Farming.

Conventional agriculture, which strains water resources and emits almost as much as one-fourth of the world's greenhouse gasses, Indoor Vertical Farming is a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution.

Indoor Vertical farms uses 95% less water than traditional farms and 10% of the land.
The icing on the cake is that Indoor Vertical Farming happens where the population lives, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of growing food.

Soil organic carbon was found to be 82% higher in urban "herbaceous" areas compared to rural arable land, which highlights the potential for increased carbon capture into crops and soil in urban farms, benefitting the cities.

In conventional farming significantly more energy is used in transporting food from the farm to the consumer than in the growing process itself.
Therefore, growing food in close proximity to consumers can reduce the emission of gases otherwise emitted by transporting vehicles.
It is imperative to shift to Indoor Vertical Farming to sustain our food systems.

Are all indoor vertical farms the same?

While all Indoor vertical farms are unique in their technology and setup, they have in common
- they are all set up indoors
- they use LED lights
- they control the heat, humidity, and the water flow.

Indoor Vertical Farms are each setup for their target market.

AeroFarms is one of most established companies using Bunk Beds and aeroponic mist for the substrate.
Urban Crop Solutions is a bunk bed hydroponic irrigation located inside freight containers.
Local Grown Salads uses a wall system with a soil substrate located in a customized room inside any building.

What is the common advantages of Indoor Vertical Farming?
- Increase in growth efficiency
- Increase in productivity
- Less water usage
- Less carbon footprint
- Less manpower

Indoor Vertical Farms are extremely adaptive and can be employed in all conditions.

The one constant is all Indoor Vertical Farms maximize efficiency, productivity and produce healthy great tasting vegetables.

How do hydroponics work?
Disclaimer - Local Grown Salads uses a manufactured soil, not Hydroponics,
This a teaching moment.

Hydroponic systems are common in vine greenhouses and Indoor Vertical Farming as they have many advantages.
- Easy transport
- Reduced water usage
- No soil necessary
- Space effective
= Reduced pesticide use

Hydroponic systems substitute nutrient-rich water for the soil.
The plant's roots are submerged directly in this nutrient-rich solution making growing crops easier than ever!
There are a few basic elements that all hydroponic systems need, such as fresh water, oxygen, root support, nutrients, and light.

Hydroponics are great for home use.
Regularly change the water and maintain a pH of 6-6.5.
Add nutrients every time the water is changed.

Oxygen is provided an aquarium air pump in the water container.
The plant's need some support, such coconut fiber or stones.
Lighting is integral to your plant's growth, use the sun or LED lighting.
All available from Amazon!

Hydroponics are mess-free and very easy to maintain.

It beats using soil!.

Amazing paper analyzing greenhouses and .
issues are complicated and this paper brings out those details.

Here are the takeaways from the abstract:
- Conventional, high-tech greenhouse systems showed the greatest potential for positive contributions towards four of the SDGs. However, their relatively high energy use makes it difficult to achieve SDG7 on affordable and clean energy, where low-tech systems perform better due to lower energy use from relatively cleaner sources.
- Lower water use efficiency and higher nutrient losses in all soilbased cultivation systems are barriers to achieving some targets under most of the selected SDGs.
- Organic cultivation systems showed relatively high water and land use, based on the limited data available.

Bottom line?
The review highlights the existence of substantial synergies, but also considerable trade-offs between SDGs.
This needs to be considered when making policy, investment and management decisions related to greenhouse production.

The next step is to do a rigorous comparison with Indoor Vertical Farming.

I just read this story.
I am aware this is a common thing. And it shouldn't be.

There were a number of underlying causes. As all participants were African American, it was probably not a racists thing. It was probably because their was an assumption that a Black man cannot have wealth.

I believe that creating wealth in the Black community will address this.
It needs to be that being wealthy and Black is normal.
