🚨 URGENT - PLEASE SHARE 🚨
We’re heartbroken to announce that our longest partner—a shelter in Tennessee that has been a safe haven for thousands of dogs over the years—will be closing its doors next weekend due to unforeseen circumstances. This shelter has been a refuge, providing the care, love, and support these animals needed while waiting for their forever homes.
With the closure, countless dogs are now at risk of losing their safe place, and we urgently need your help to ensure they don’t end up back on the streets or in unsafe situations. Sadly, adoptions in rural Tennessee are almost non-existent, and if these dogs are left behind, their future is uncertain—even risking euthanasia. Although we could bring them to Canada, they would need to be placed in boarding, which is far from the fresh start these dogs deserve.
We’re calling on compassionate individuals and families to open their hearts and homes. If you’ve ever thought about fostering or adopting, this is your chance to make a real difference in a dog’s life. These dogs need foster homes or ideally, foster-to-adopt families who can provide the stability they need during this time.

In just 18 days, our team will return to Canada from our second-last Tennessee intake of the year. We have space in the van to bring back as many dogs as possible, but unfortunately, none of these dogs have received any interest yet.
Thinking about adopting? All of these adorable dogs are available for foster-to-adopt trials. This means you'll have two weeks to get to know your potential new furry family member before making the final decision to adopt!

Last summer, we made an urgent plea for fosters. Our Tennessee partner, who we’ve supported since our inception, was overwhelmed. There were 90 dogs on the property, all being cared for by one remarkable senior woman. Our goal was to cut that number in half. Just imagine trying to care for 90 dogs alone—managing monthly preventatives, deworming, vaccines, 4dx tests, spay/neuter surgeries, and daily feeding.
Sadly, adoptions and adequate homes in rural Tennessee are scarce, and the stray population continues to grow rapidly, leading to daily euthanizations at the local pound and shelters. We quickly mobilized a plan to rehome as many dogs as possible and by working alongside other local rescues, we successfully cut the number of dogs in half. Nearly 50 of these dogs took their freedom rides and found forever homes here in Canada since last summer.
Our next intake in September is quickly approaching and only 5 dogs have found placement so far. These trips are not only costly but require months of planning and after this intake, the weather will begin to get cold, leaving the remaining dogs to sleep outside in single digit temperatures until the end of November when we return. We’re determined to help as many as we can while the weather remains mild.
Please consider opening your home to foster a dog in need. Some of these dogs have been waiting nearly two years for a foster or adopter, passed over intake after intake. If fostering isn’t an option, we have many dogs available for foster-to-adopt trials on our website. If you can't foster or adopt right now, please share this message and help us reach others who may be able to help.

Meet Krystal! Beautiful Krystal had a rough start to life when she was found as a young pup near the county pound in Tennessee. She has not let this dampen her spirit and is an incredibly loving, playful, happy, social girl. Krystal is easy going and finds joy in pretty much any activity. She has the most gorgeous, sparkling blue eyes and often gets stopped on the street to be admired. Some of Krystal's favorite things are running around the yard, playing fetch, being chased, going for walks, toys of all kinds, and playing with other dogs. She has the most adorable jaunty trot when she wants to show off a favorite ball or toy. Krystal’s genuine sweetness and enjoyment of all things quickly wins over everyone she meets.
Krystal is a true velcro dog and spends her days following her foster humans around the house. She is instantly trusting of pretty much any human and will seek out a lap to sit on or any cuddles to be had. When meeting new people she can be easily excitable but is always very friendly. She loves playing chase outside with her foster humans and canine siblings. She enjoys a good game of fetch and any outdoor activity, whether it is lazing in the yard, a stroll through the neighborhood, or a long run or hike.
Krystal is unbothered by the hustle and bustle of city life and would thrive in the city or in a more rural area. Krystal currently goes for 2 walks a day about 40 minutes long. She spends the rest of her day playing outside with her canine foster sibling or playing inside with a variety of toys and mental stimulation games. She loves puzzle toy
