Barbie 🥰
Tis the season to catch up on a lot of videos.
Here's miss Barbie from the fall. She was a tricky girl, but very happy with how her colt start went.
Next up... Udaya, Luna, Fin, and Lucky.
It's amazing how much time it takes to make some of these grand finale videos so bare with me 😁
Rango my Favorite Mule 🥰
This message is for anyone who feels pressured to "ride it out" or "you have to stay on their back, or they win".
I did get back on for the last 5 min stretch, and enjoyed a way more relaxed boy. Plus, we ended on a lovely note with many yawns back to the barn.
I would rather see people just get off before you risk falling off, or your horse getting hurt because they aren't using the thinking side of their brain.
There is NO SHAME, NO RULES, on walking home because you chose too.

This handsome boy is stealing my heart ❤️
From having to be sedated to trim his toes, to really trying his best. He's not perfect yet, but today was our first time trying the tools out.
Also, check out that tail! From not letting me touch it, to beautifully brushed each day. No more baseball bat burrs. He just gets more handsome each day 😍
I love all the different horses I get to work with, but nothing beats Freyja's Journey. From feral to my best mount 🥰
Forever grateful for this view that I am blessed to see quite often, and for a partner that brings out the best in me.
Fin! 🥰
This guy has been far from easy, but so much fun to help him figure out life. This session was huge for him.
When he arrived, he was actually really frozen. So he looked chill, but when I tried to lay across his back, he exploded. Which was okay, because it showed me just how concerned he was on the inside. He also barrel kicked as he jumped away, so that was fun.
I've been working on stepping up into the saddle for a while, but he would still panic and launch himself....( which isn't bad as he is really showing me his concern vs just sucking it up, then exoloding when I am up there.) After getting Morrice Animal Chiropractic to give him a once over, we found some soreness on the right side. Little bit of love and time to try again.
Today, we got up there as I watched his expression. I had been rewarding just my foot in the stirrup, because just that would make him go into freeze. He was still showing lots of signs that he wasn't frozen, so I thought I'd push it. Little concerned, held him self together...just watch till the end. It was neat seeing his brain try and figure out what was going on.
Time is hard to judge with horses. Even I didn't expect it to be such a slow progression with this guy, but a slow solid foundation will always trump a fast one with holes.
Luna
Miss Luna headed home!
She is the cutest little mustang! I had so much fun starting her and getting her wonderful owner on her back.
Here's a little tease of our grand finale ride because I might be having way too much fun with editing videos 🤣
Udaya
Currently going through videos and making some edits. Udaya went home a while ago, but I made this little teaser while editing his grand finale video 😍
I was absolutely thrilled with how he tranformed over a short period of time!
TIP of the day for building confidence with obstacles 🥰
Don't tell people your dreams, show them ❤️
Only a handful of people will know how big of a deal this is for Udaya. He's killing it 🙌
Luna 🥰
When this girls mom sends you a cute little edit of her girl. I have been slacking in the video department. It's just been a lot of work, and honestly, training these horses is my priority. If I get a video of their sessions, it's definitely a bonus!
This little one has come so far though. From a little bucky bronco, to trying so hard to please and keeping calm. She's got beautiful movement and I truly enjoy how much better she gets with each ride 🥰
Miss Gemma 💎
How is this girl doing?
Well she is handling the colt starting portion quite nicely. She's a very sensitive soul and likes to overreact to some things, so I've had to slow down with her.
A lot of anxiety in horses comes from them not understanding the question and over thinking it. Gemma loves to do this, so we've been having some fun working on the slow stuff.
She is also gaited... and has no idea how that hind end works. So, after having Jess from Morrice Animal Chiropractic give her the okay to work, she's been enjoying the trail miles, vs a lot of arena rides to get that hind end moving.
One thing I love about my program... it's custom to every horses needs. I can't just do the exact same session with each horse. What worked on one, doesn't always work on the other.
Keeping Gemma going on the ground and over trotting poles to help her hind end, caused her to become anxious about work. So now, I've gone back and added trail riding to help her continue to look forward to working each day.
Pay attention to what your horses tell you. If your sessions start going backwards too much, and you're not getting that 1% better each day, it's time to change your approach.
